Fun fact; those creepy dolls and toys were actually from the time frame the movie is set in. A collector donated them to the film crew.

The horror movie that stuck with me after all these years is The Ring. I saw it as a preteen in the middle of the night at a friend's birthday party and I had no idea what we were getting into. It was the scariest thing ever and even now when I watch it I'm still scared the rest of the day cause I'm scared Samara is going to show up in my dreams. She has on numerous occasions and trust me you don't want her in your dreams. You will wake up frozen in fear searching your rooms dark corners for her

Meh! Scary at times but nothing I hadn't scene before. Poltergeist is the scariest movie I've ever seen (and I mean the original - 1986!) because it truly frightened me, not just made me jump. Woman in Black had a gripping moment when they retrieve the boy's body from the quick mud, but you can't dive beneath quick mud like it's water, that kinda insults the audience's the intelligence, and to be honest the twist ending is kinda like "Oh, f**k you, then!". But glad I saw it at least!

The woman in black had a great amount of jump scares towards the climax, but sadly the climax took a long time to get to. It did get kind of painfully to wait till the real creepiness set in. But I agree the camera work was incredible and the ending was something that stuck with you along with the woman in black herself. In all it was a great horror movie.

What? This film is the first film to genuinly scare me in a long time and about 20 mins after i watch it I saw my reflection in one of my sister photos and i nearly screamed in terror. But the scariest scene for me was when Radcliffe was creating the room for the woman then she glides across the room towards him and screams but at that moment my sister comes in and i try to pause i lunge forward and on the screen and it is the close up of the woman and she scream that will stay with me forever

The first time he goes into the nursery, and we get that one shot of the rocking chair, moving on it's own, and there is no one in it, and then the camera stays on it as it rocks back out of the shot, and then it rocks back in and the woman in black is sitting in it!!! that scared the living piss out of me!!!!

I think the reason movies like this don't scare anymore is we've become desensitized. It is sad really. It seems like unless there isn't blood and gore on the screen that movies like this just aren't scary. Movies like Saw, Hostel, Insidious, Sinister and others with extreme violent and macabre themes are the norm these days. I prefer creepy horror with creepy atmosphere rather than in-your-face gore. Sometimes innuendo is the best story telling device.

That said I think those other movies I listed definitely have their place, but I feel like horror really needs specific sub genres because I've heard so many mixed reviews about The Woman in Black. Some love it and some could care less. I've found the ones that care less are usually in love with movies like Saw.

I saw this movie earlier today and I can confidently say that it's the best horror movie I've ever seen since I saw insidious. I just saw that film alone at nigh. It has scary moments but I tried to rationalize that the village people are trying to hide something so they don't like strangers and because of that they conspire against Arthur and try to scary him or maybe that "black woman" never died and that she is a psychopath.. But at the end of the movie I realize it's just a fiction story because there isn't such a technology to film dead people and since I don't believe in ghosts I'm not scared. However, good movie.

I watched this two times. The first time I watched this with my sister, and it scared the daylights out of me and her. And I really cried at the ending. And Fun Fact: His son in the film was actually his godson in real life. Amd the second time we watched it was in school in activities Day. Me and my friend Ben was sitting next to each other, and he just scared himself. And I think he wet himself by just watching it. It was that scary. Also there was a moment were we're in one of the corridors of the downstairs B bloke in our school, and me and Ben were all a lone. There was no one else with us. Suddenly... And this really happened... Everything went silent and I thought I heard the Women in Black heading towards us. We got really scared. And that's some how stuck with me. And I really love Daniel Radcliffe's performance. I really felt so real amazing. I was amazing as Arthur Kipps. Well played Daniel. Well done. I love him so much that I had to watch Horns. I was a little shaking and unsure of watching at first, but somehow I was managed to be convinced by Joe Hill and watched it. It was really scary. And yet it was romantic and funny at the same time. I had to turn away from some bits but overall it was sweet and amazing at the same time. I give Women in Black 9.5/10 and Horns 9.5/10. Just love the Women in Black. And if you thought the Women in Black is terrible then why watch it. If it wasn't up to your liking then not watch it. And its not the first on that's Horrible( and the first one was awesome) its the Squeal that's called The Women in Black: Angels of Darkness. What a stupid movie. Doesn't live up to the great success of the first on.

I have seen just about every horror flick out there and it is pretty unique in the way it breaks alot of the cliche themes horror movies have. My favorite thing with the camera work, is when it's focused on Daniel going over papers in the house and it's night in a creepy, dark place. There's like one lantern lighting him and everything else is just shadow...Until you see the Woman in Black turn her head in the background. We need more camera work like that in horror movies.

I don’t think the movie was slow at the beginning but basically, the story was built progressively as the beginning clearly puts things into context. My favorite scary movie of all times! That creepy house was definitely one of the best things along with Arthur, his friend and of course the very shadowy woman in black. It gave me chills as I saw it and I keep getting scared no matter the number of times I watch it, definitely worth watching, preferably on a dark cloudy and rainy day, in a dark room...

I'm not a fan of horror films in general(Particularly, I avoid slasher flicks and similar). This is one of the best movies ever!! I love it and, yes, it was badass creepy... But I didn't get goosebumps, and neither did it give me nightmares. Even though I don't particularly like or can handle scary movies... I watched about the first 5 minutes of Saw and I had nightmares for weeks! I turned it off after that! Then again I was pretty young when I saw it... I only saw the Woman in Black about a month ago. Still! Saw is scary as hell!! But the Woman in Black... Meh... As you can probably guess, Daniel Radcliffe is my favourite actor EVER, which of course motivated me to watch this movie, and yeah, I did feel it all the way through and I was always sort of anticipating what was going to happen next, like I was going to jump out of my skin because of whatever happened next... And the jump scenes only got me anticipating it more... And yes, I agree that it was very creepy... Just not as much as Saw. Believe it or not, I am complimenting Daniel Radcliffe here... He is a great actor!! And it was because of him that gave me the daring to watch the Woman in Black all the way through. I'm bloody glad I did though... One of the greatest films ever!!! And I kinda both love and hate the fact that they killed off the main character - Not many films do that, so kudos for that... But why does it have to be the person who has gone through enough scary shit to last five bloody lifetimes?? And why Daniel Radcliffe?!?!?!?!??!?!?! .-. Perhaps they wanted a change... Or maybe they wanted to put him out of his misery... It wasn't his fault anyway, it was her fault for not leaving him alone despite him helping her! Hmmm... Just thinking... The Woman in Black killed him in the end... Ahhh... The irony... At the end though, I was BAWLING. Honestly... Crying my eyes out... Because it's like when Harry Potter used the Resurrection Stone in the Deathly Hallows Part Two - I cried at that, and I cried at this. (I know I'm using a Harry Potter reference for this but I don't cry at many movies. I pretty much ALWAYS cry at HP when somebody dies... Or pretty Mich all the way through Deathly Hallows... I cried at Titanic, sure, but that's different. Besides, pretty much everyone cries at Titanic anyway... XD) That's my views! Thanks! ;)

I personally really liked this movie. It was well shot and also it was a nice change of pace that it wasn't the typical "Blood fest" pornos that we've been getting in recent years like "Rob Zombie's Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" remake and so on. I mean yeah, people die in this movie, but not in over-the-top bloody ways. Actually I don't remember seeing any blood in this movie.

But... The first death we saw was a girl spitting up blood.

this movie scared the living shit out of me and it was worse when the light in my room went out and I realized I have made a huge mistake by collecting a shit ton of action figures

When you re-watch an old review of jeremy and realise how much sexier he is now...and if I'm not mistaken taller?

Love the camera work in this movie. Everything was so subtle, and it really did stick with you. I was paranoid for like a week after seeing this. As for the scary movie, The Exorcism of Emily Rose creeped me out, probably because I watched in the dark, by myself, in a big house...

Not a remake. Just another adaptation of the novel.

The one where he touches the hand print, the one where he comes back from the grounds with the dog and the bit where she comes up behind him when he is lokking out the window

honestly, i didn't like it much, it relied too much on jump scares than anything, and the ending...kinda sucked, it was kinda like a english version of the grudge

This movie would have being ten times better if it was darker and if Daniel Radcliffe wasn't in the movie. I he wasn't in the movie it might have even being scary.
