Have you ever put your pencil down somewhere, then it was no where to be found when you needed it? You and me both, brother.
My strategy is to hide pencils all over my workshop in every place imaginable, so there is always one nearby whenever I need to write something down. I recently figured out a really convenient hiding place -- inside the rail of my table saw fence system. This way, there is always a pencil within arm's reach when you need to measure and mark something to be cut.
I originally got this idea from Alex over at Bevelish Creations and made only slight modifications. His youtube channel is here: / bevelish_creations
