One of the most beautiful endings to any movie ever. It always makes me cry. Thanks for posting, Tiffany Donkeyshlong 😆!

Oh Robin Williams... Garp and Popeye were few of my first films growing up in the 80's...u didn't deserve to go out like this....such a sweet, funny man who seemed like he never had a mean bone in his body. I hope you find the peace that you didn't have in life. Thank you for the memories... Condolences to your family....RIP

Well said. I grew up watching his films and shows in the '80s, and kept up with what he was doing over the years. This clip couldn't be any more poignant today. There will never be another one like him, and we'll never see anyone like him again.

Williams successfully transitioned from a great stand-up comic to an excellent dramatic actor. He will be SERIOUSLY missed by too many of his friends--and he had quite a few--in the acting profession.

In a direct way, his mother is to blame for all of this. She harbored these extremists. Even when she knew it was wrong when they formed a group who self mutilated in order to "Stand for the rights of women" and did nothing to stop it. She basically gave them a home and allowed them to grow. That is how I see feminists of today. Not all of them are extremists as they claim. Yet they look the other way on those who are and say "Well, they don't represent ALL of us."

Actually, Pooh Percy was the product of her own family’s lackadaisical way of raising their children-she was always a bit disturbed (even her own sister said so), and the way her parents spoiled her didn’t help. It wasn’t until after her becoming an Ellen Jamesian and murdering Garp that she was institutionalized and got the psychiatric help she needed. That’s as much of a spoiler as I’m going to give you, unless you’ve already read the book. 😉

One of my favourite books, John Irving is a great writer! Pooh was just a weirdo, a messed up product of the Percy family; the movie even tries to bring some sense by showing Pooh witnessing when Garp makes out with Cushie when they were teens but thats actually not in the book. The book runs rather short on Poohs background, the only thing that is mentioned repeatedly is her wearing diapers not out of necessity until late grade school. Another thing that is different from the movie is that Pooh didnt cut off her tongue & became a James' follower after Jennys funeral. Gotta read the book to get more details: Garp writes what Ellen James describes as the best rape scene (very graphic revenge), she loves it and the James'es detest Garp & were always a threat to his life!
