There were a couple things I liked more about this game than Goldeneye. The weapons were better (more ammo types, seeing actual reloading sequence, secondary firing modes, etc) there were also character voices.

This version blows the PS1 version out of the water for a couple reasons. 1. More levels (11 in the PS1 and 14 in the N64 version) 2. Multi-player 3. Better graphics and textures. It's a tie in the control and audio department, both versions play and sound well, but it feels like they put more effort and passion into the N64 version overall. I'm glad the N64 for once got the far better version of a game.

This looks like a proper follow-up to Goldeneye. Sadly I never played it, though I wish I had. It's a shame it didn't receive nearly as much attention as Goldeneye, though being released after Perfect Dark (in the same year) probably didn't do it any favors.

+Chubzdoomer It really wasnt a proper followup. It was a totally different game and engine from a different developer. It certainly wasnt a bad game, but it was nowhere close to the same experience as Goldeneye. Even without Perfect Dark (which was "GoldenEye 2" from Rare), it would not have gotten huge attention. If it had been developed by Rare as a true followup to goldenEye instead of Perfect Dark, then it would have been a different story. I looovveeed many aspects of Perfect Dark, but I really wish they had developed another Bond game instead.

+Chubzdoomer It was a great game. Compared to GE/PD though it honestly felt unfinished and a little bit clunky at times, especially the auto-aim. What I did like was the ability to install silencers on certain weapons to help with stealth and the fact that the game seemed to feel more "open" in a sense. It gave you more freedom to explore alternate paths through some missions, rather than a set path like GoldenEye made you take. Multi was awesome though. How cool is it to have a 4 way firefight on top of flying airplanes?

While this Bond game did bring in better gadgets they were poorly implemented and it tried to hard to be ahead of its time, Agent Under Fire improved upon this immensely.

handsome tyrell no need to be nasty, the reason I asked is something called common courtesy, I'm guessing this is something you're new too considering I wrote this question over a year ago and you're just now writing. nevertheless, thanks for taking time out of your "busy" day to reply to a peasant.

Perfect dark? on the N64? You joking me.... Perfect Dark surpassed the expectations in terms of graphics, the game looked amazing even as an N64 game. It passed all my tests including going beyond Goldeneye and TWiNE. Resident Evil? Are you referring to RE 2 on the N64? Because CAPCOM weren't trying to be innovative or pushy with the graphics, they just wanted to make sure they had a dark survival horror game. But i understand your frustration with it, but it takes a bit getting used to.

the graphics were "better" than goldeneye but because of the added lighting, shading, and so forth the resault to me was a less defined break from wall to floor, background to foreground, gun to wall, and so on. goldeneye used older styles that were easy to differentiate between.

i actually disliked this game, i had high expectations of it from perfect dark / goldeneye, but that was also before i realized the difference between different game developers as a kid... I.. LOVED... PERFECT DARK. Edit: And now, I have long come to learn that EA is the destroyer of would be decent game / franchises. With the exception of very few in terms of who they allow to develop.
