A new exhibit will open this summer in the Voorhees Archaearium, the archaeological museum, representing finds from the 1607 James Fort site, that will highlight the material world of the Virginia Indians in the region around Jamestown Island. Tens of thousands of Virginia Indian artifacts have been found in the James Fort period (1607-1624) archaeological contexts and now many of those will be a part of the new World of Pocahontas exhibit. Thank you to James City County for helping to fund the exhibit and to GoMeasure 3D for scanning and printing the basket pot.
