Though harmless to humans, the dragonfly's large compound eyes and complex nervous system allows it to predict its prey's movements in flight. That's just because someone somewhere apparently decided roaring is required (which makes absolutely no sense since big is a size reference). Cougars for example are frequently bigger than leopards. @merryleelanehart8690

@@brianh6Yes, and they include them in that category erroneously. The cougar is the largest non-roaring cat, but it is NOT considered one of the "BIG" cats. See for yourself: www.animalfactsencyclopedia.com/Cougar-facts.html
@brianh6
2 жыл бұрын
@@merryleelanehart8690 This changes nothing about my point. I was already fully aware that roaring is routinely used as a criterion for determining "BIG" cats. My point was just because you and the Animal Facts Encyclopedia and a bunch of other places do it that way doesn't mean everyone has to adhere to that. And they aren't wrong. They are just doing it differently. Big cat isn't a scientific term. Taken literally cougars are big cats (they are clearly cats and they are clearly big). So if someone wants to call them a big cat it IS an accurate description (I just capitalized IS because I found it funny that you capitalized NOT lol). I'm not arguing against those who use roaring as a determinant. You do you. If the term roaring cat was being used instead of big cat I would be fully on board with not including the cougar. But as it is I'll stick to my inclusion as a big cat (sorry Animal Facts Encyclopedia common sense has to prevail for me). I could provide links to various wildlife and other organizations that include them as a big cat (and trust me they know about the roaring thing), but I'll leave that up to you if you are so inclined (and no they aren't being erroneous).

Actually that isnt completely true, people have found that seperating kittens from their mother at 2 months will result in psychological trauma that means behavior like suckling on earlobes and alike. Experts have started to recommend a 3 months period before seperating kittens from their family.

Our cats are a little behind in running, though. They usually open their eyes sometime in their second week. They are still wobbly walking at 4 weeks but much steadier on their feet by 5 weeks. They can run pretty well by 6 weeks, but might need to hop up and down human stairs...

My cat just had Bobcat Fever so we had to shove pills down her throat 3 times a day. I'm glad she recovered and I love that cat but I was honestly terrified of her for the last 3 days haha. Who would've thought it would be so dangerous to purposely shove something down the throat of an animal that is nothing but muscle, has feet covered with fish hooks and a mouth full of needles XD

OMG! Recently went through the shoving pills down my cat’s throat thing and was legit scared every time. He is so docile and affectionate, behaves well at the vet and adores me. But he HATES having pills put down his throat and I have to move fast to avoid having him bite the hell out of my fingers. I found that just a drop of wet cat food around the pill gives it more weight so I can quickly toss it towards the back of his throat, plus the food on it encourages him to swallow it rather than encountering a bitter pill he spits out. I was so grateful when his meds were changed to liquids he would consume when mixed with food and a small amount of water!
