I’ve been wanting to work with more KZitemrs, and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. He was certainly the best person for this job

That part with the Retro Baseball guy sure was good! It sounds like he would have a great channel. Oh wait, forgot to switch accounts.

"An error by the center fielder" was underselling it! Snodgrass' Muff would be a phrase that would be known by any baseball for decades. If you made an MLB Iceberg video from the perspective of any pre-baby boomer fan, that error is at the first level, no joke.

Great video! Technically, if a World Series game goes into enough extra innings that it's actively prohibitive, couldn't the Commissioner call it a tie under modern rules?

Good question! The answer is no, a game can be suspended and resumed later if the umpires and both teams agree, but it cannot be called a tie - especially in the playoffs. However, there’s a chance that this could happen in the regular season. If a game is stopped with the score tied, the game already “official” (five innings or more already completed), and no make up dates are available, there’s a chance it could officially be ruled as a tie as long as there are no playoff implications because of it. That being said, this is some thing that is extremely unlikely in today’s MLB. The last tie that happened was a 2016 game between the Pirates and Cubs that was called for rain on the last day of the season. Since the Cubs had clinched the playoffs already and the Pirates were eliminated, MLB didn’t even bother with trying to resume the game

The 1922 World Series also went to eight games, despite being a best-of-seven series. There was one tie game that was ended by rain. Also, 1903 was the first year of the World Series, not of Major League Baseball. The first season of Major League Baseball was the National League's inaugural season of 1876.

I attended game 5 of the 1992 World Series. I caught the walk off home run ball that John Olerud hit to win the championship.
