Fun fact: The story of Hulkster in Heaven is literally a lie like everything else Hulk Hogan says. Hulk Hogan never wrestled in Wembley Stadium and hadn't wrestled in Wembley Arena until 1994, he wasn't even in the UK at the time. Hulk Hogan is pretty infamous in the wrestling world for (aside from using his sway to change matches in favour) being a liar, one of his most baffling is that he once had a 400-day year. A more music-related one is he claimed that both Metallica and The Rolling Stones wanted him as their bass player.

Yeah, Hulk Hogan was 'retired' by this point, as he was intending to go into politics and Hollywood all at once. Neither wanted him, so he returned to the WWF/WWE. Which didn't really want him either by this point. So he went to WCW where the fans didn't want him but it was a hot mess at the time anyway funded by a billionaire, and this album happened in that window to cash in on a dwindling fanbase of children. And the year after, he became a bad guy, started wearing black and dying his beard black, wrestling had it's edgelord phase and that worked for much longer than it should have.

As a wrestling fan, trust that no one was listening to this at the time. This came out in like the mid-90s when grunge and rap where starting to get popular and more relevant to mainstream media at the time. Fun fact: the 2nd track on the album, American Made, was his theme song in WCW which was a rival company to the WWF. It also was a ripoff of his WWF theme which rules. Edit: at 13:29 Hulk was not an alcoholic, but he was 100% a steroid user. In fact it’s all too common. Almost any wrestler you can guess that’s been in the WWF before the past 12 years or so has used roids at one point or another. Not an issue just irritating that they lie like they don’t.

To be fair hip hop wasn’t anywhere near as common a term in 1995 and the genre was most commonly referred to as rap. Music charts and radio stations mostly didn’t start using the term hip hop to identify themselves until the late 90s. I think he just said rap twice to balance the flow.

@@MrRyan-wu4jx Im calling bull on that. Its an inexcusable line. As much as Hulk was raking it in around that time, he could've gotten someone wise him up on hip hop enough to not rattle off a nonsense name for the very thing he's partaking in. There's no way theyd let someone musically tonedeaf or completely ignorant to the genre get away with talking about a "rock-rock" station. 😂 Also, that line has been lazily recycled by Jimmy Hart in several songs such as "Juvenile Delinquents" and "Crank It Up".
