Congratulations on 10k subscribers, guys. Your channel was one of the few things that helped me through the early , hard times of the pandemic (and a tough time in my life). Seriously 🙏❤.. Really happy for your success. For a channel that is purely music discussion , reliant only on the credibility and personality of the content hosts, no music ( so no copyright /monetary costs that other music channels might have) 10 K is a massive success. Add to that you have a dedicated , loyal Patreon membership /regular commenters who adore you, and it;s growing, You guys should be proud of what you have done. Don't take it for granted, Respect ✊

Congrats on 10K guys. I remember subbing to the channel when you had 5.1K and I couldn't believe you didn't have more subscribers given the quality of your content and the fact you didn't do shitty reaction/review videos where you pretend you haven't heard "Yesterday" by the Beatles ever in your life and put a surprised OMG thumbnail. I don't always agree with everything but that's what makes you guys authentic. You're true to yourselves. Honestly, none of my friends and family really give a shit about music so watching this channel is kinda like hanging out with fellow music-minded folks. Honestly, I think I watch your channel more than Netflix or Amazon. Your videos are so addicting, especially when you guys disagree on an artist or Jason has a completely out of left field opinion that Joe and Kramzer are just in sheer disbelief over and are just wondering if he's being contrarian. Keep up the great work. EDIT: ABBA rules. Joe for the win.

As a Kate Bush fan I can understand it; her music had an indigenous British element. Lionheart. Wuthering Heights. Fifty Words for Snow being narrated by Stephen Fry. She also used experimental techniques like the changed time signatures that Frank Zappa played with.

I think not liking Kate Bush has a lot to do with not connecting with her music the way you should. It's a matter of time, I guess. Although, not liking her first album is really strange. And I think Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) is an excellent album with lots of hidden jems. I agree on later albums (just the hits hit). But then again, Jason doesn't like ABBA either.
@NaughtyVampireGod
2 жыл бұрын
"Not connecting" could be said of any artist you don't like. However it's subjective. As to Kate, her first album is a classic. She does not equal it until Hounds of Love and the discography after that is not good.
@spoteach
2 жыл бұрын
@@NaughtyVampireGod I agree. Her debut and Houds Of Love are also in my top three alongside Never For Ever. Her work after Hounds Of Love has its moments but I never tend to listen to the full albums. About "not connecting": I was thinking about Jason who likes good compositions, arrengements, instrumentation and production. You can't deny it's all present on her debut. Only thing I could understand is that you don't like her voice or the way she expresses herself lyrically. Jason not liking Kate Bush that much is the biggest surprise from this episode for me.
@NaughtyVampireGod
2 жыл бұрын
@@spoteach Never For Ever is probably her third best. Several excellent songs incl Breathing, The infant Kiss, and some others. I read that Lionheart (second album) was rushed due to the unexpected success of the first album. . . For me the ironic thing about the Stranger Things/Kate Bush phenomenon is that Running Up That Hill is not really one of her best songs (imo).It's okay, but honestly I think it is perhaps more a matter of product placement. The public has had several opportunities to "discover" this song since it was first released.
@Tyelton

@@NaughtyVampireGod I wouldn’t say her discography is bad after Hounds Of Love. I think The Sensual World and Aerial are both great albums. I mean she obviously never hits the highs that she hit in the early and mid 80s but I could name plenty of artists that fell off way more than she did.

Artist/bands that I covered with Listography/Test Like Music 1. Phil Collins (Nothing beyond 2.5. And the only artist can't finish whole catalog.) 2. Massive Attack (One 3 stars album, which is probably the best in whole genre, will see hopefully not soon...) 3. Don Henley (One 3 stars album.) Artist/bands that the guys covered, and I get lucky to miss. In no order: ▪︎ Oasis (listen once the whole catalog. I'd say nothing beyond 3 stars.) ▪︎ Whitney Houston (not my style of music.) ▪︎ Foo Fighters (Heard couple singles, so generic.) HM: Lady Gaga/Madonna (Not the type of music I can force myself to listen.)

The Eurythmics, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush, Faith No More (two great albums from them in The Real Thing and Angel Dust), Foo Fighters and even Sonic Youth (although Dirty isn't the best album ever it's by no means the worst). Two of your least favorites are two of my favorites: Billy Joel and Tom Waits. They're both such great songwriters. But I can understand Jason's distaste for The Stooges. Not really my cup of tea either. I think of The Stooges as kind of like The Doors if the Doors couldn't play their instruments. Kramzer says of Billy Joel, "he's pandering country music to the Jersey crowd." I have no idea what he is talking about right there. Also, when he says Billy Joel can't sing, that's just ridiculous. Heard Billy sing at MSG on TV recently and the man was still hitting the high notes on Innocent Man. With panache and perfect pitch. Dude is a legend.

I only get involved with about one in every four or five you cover, I have to admit that there are far more bands/artists that I don't care for than do, many that I personally cannot stand still to some degree have my respect... I would never state in a comment how unbelievably crap I believe some of them to be, I hate it when somebody does it to me... T. Rex is coming up in the next week or two, seldom do you cover any that I love this much but I am sure there are a few that will have to state how bad Bolan was (to my mind, they are free to so but I do wish they would be constructive)... If you spark my interest enough to put forward a list every now and again that will do me... I believe 20k will come soon enough, again WELL DONE!!!...

Interesting. Couple of Bands I wouldn't even suspect on your channel, like 3DD or Cranberries. Would never occur to me to go through their catalog, so I understand why they make your bottom 10s. While I think Tom Waits is a great artist, I totally understand how spending days on end listening to his records can wear you out. I wouldn't want to be there, as much as I love most of what he did. Kate Bush and PJ Harvey possibly drag you down towards the end of their run but bottom 10 sounds harsh for the originals they are. I'm so happy Kramzer is calling out the FF for the mediocre band they are and only to a minor extent Muse. I'm sure seeing them in a rock stadium can be an awesome experience but I wouldn't ever listen to a song at home, let alone listen to an album. Last, the ones I can't buy. Whether you like the sweet & sour pop songs by ABBA, their music is so well crafted that I can't understand how a music critic doesn't find pleasure in exploring their repertoire. Sonic is at the other end of the hi/lo-fi spectrum but equally worth a deep dive.

Congratulations on reaching 10K. Well deserved. It's sad to me that vastly inferior channels have more subscribers and viewers than you. I think often it's because of their more manic and exuberant presentation, which more effectively captures the goldfish-like attention spans of the average KZitem viewer. Your more understated and cerebral style is certain to exclude morons, for better or for worse. I was surprised to see Coldplay omitted from this video. I have a bit of a soft spot for them, I can't deny it, but ultimately, it's music for bedwetters. Especially the first three albums. At the other end of the spectrum, I flirted briefly with Metallica and Faith No More after watching your videos on them, but in the end, they are too harsh, discordant and lacking in melody for my tastes. Metal sucks, if you want my opinion, and I doubt I'll revisit these and similar acts - particularly not Metallica, who are not only cacophonous but, frequently, dabble in embarrassing prog-rock dungeons and dragons lyrics about mythical sea monsters or whatever. Unforgivable. Finally, you are cordially invited to do Green Day at some point, so I can write at length in the comments section about how much I hate them and their fans.

Extremely disappointed with Kramzer putting CCR on the list! Easily a top 10 band of all time. Definitely my favorite country rock band of all time for sure! Not shocked with The Eagles since they are a hate them or love them type of band. I'm on the Love Them side. Not having the Muse love, I totally understand! They're kinda of overrated in my opinion! The 00s alternative bands I prefer are The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, and Artic Monkeys. Really shocked with Kramzer putting Foo Fighters on there. They're definitely an awesome band! They're a really consistent band. Losing Taylor Hawkins definitely sucks. We're just have to see who they replace. I think that they should keeping going. So many bands lost a band member, but they keep going.

Ha! The CCR pick shocked me because it was so right and they are universally loved especially John Fogerty so I never expected to hear them mentioned here. When I was a boy I liked everything and I didn't like them then! That fake bayou twang in his voice has always irked me big time. When I got older I was shocked to find they were from California which made me dislike him even more. Not that he was from California but that he was from there with that fake accent. The rest of the band so pedestrian and unremarkable. I'm not with Joe re Sonic Youth but I can at least understand someone hating them.

I am reaching that conclusion on Siouxsie and the Banshees - They are a singles band for me - I think about half of my top 10 songs will be "non-album" singles - Some of the UK folks like the idea of non-album singles (see: The Jam) but I find it to be kinda annoying
@trickygoose2
2 жыл бұрын
@@NaughtyVampireGod For me, non-album singles are all very well for the completist who will buy everything by an artist on release or the person who buys it just because they really like it. They are a bit of a pain for fans who tend to just buy all the albums and eventually succumb to buying a compilation just to get them as they decided they do want everything. There is also the new single that is released just before a compilation that it appears on.
@NaughtyVampireGod

@@trickygoose2 Hey - All that is undoubtedly correct. Another justification for a non-album single is to keep an artist on the charts between albums. I would think this is especially true during a music boom such as in the UK during the late 70's. But then the label should just go ahead and put that hit single on the forthcoming album. i think not having it there is a disappointment. George Martin once said that fans do not want the single on the album b/c it would be redundant; however, he is missing the fact that many fans just buy albums.

Just when I thought Jason had broke my heart the maximum amount with Faith No More, he followed it with The Stooges and finished me off. And then Joe with Tom Waits. I may never recover.

This was pretty funny. Watching Joe shooting mental arrows upstairs, while ABBA and Whitney were getting the bizness. And Kram looked kind of moody through the episode ;))). Good clip. It is IMO a good thing that you guys make a point to cover artists, who are not your personal favorite.

Always glad to hear of this channel's successes of 10k subscribers. I am one of them. Kram your comment of: "If your Christmas Album is the best you've got, you know you're in trouble" is outstandingly LOL!! I wonder if you could rank your least favorites bands with 5 stars. But there was some surprises: Thin Lizzy and Boston. Agree with Jason on Guns'n Roses and The Cranberries, The Babys, Phil Collins - I think you were way off - all good for there time. But this channel is about opinion, and it is your opinion, but I have to disagree with these picks discussed herein. There are a whole lot of zero bands that you guys have not ranked, so let it known, there out there. Keep up the get work - love the channel!!

Late to congratulating you! Interesting list. I love the arrangements and productions (Richie Podolor) on the Three Dog Night albums. I think they're the best cover band ever. As for CCR, I'll just keep my mouth shut.

My least favorites you've covered so far. These are off the top of my head, no particular order... Slint, The Darkness, Three Dog Night, Whitney Houston, Phil Collins, Foo Fighters, Dwight Yoakam, Counting Crows, The Babys, Muse HM: Boston (I do love Boston's debut album, but they go steeply downhill after that).

Tom Waits...ouch! Kate Bush... Big ouch! But hey. Each to their own and with that in mind my number one worst discography you've done goes to... 🥁🥁🥁🥁 Weezer. My mother always taught me, if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing. But hey, she's dead and Weezer are shit. Congrats on the 10,000. Well deserved. 👍

Once again congratulations on 10K subscribers! Here's to many, many more! This was a fun look back on your least favourite discographies. Of the ones I participated with I would definitely say my least favourites were The Cranberries, Eurythmics (whom I always thought I liked better before doing a deep dive), PJ Harvey and of course, ugh Slint. ;)

You've endured some bad music for these videos. Couple of artists whose discographies are worth exploring; Judas Priest, Beastie Boys, Harry Nilsson, Prince, Fela Kuti, Parliament Funkadelic, INXS, Laura Nyro, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cult, Kool and the Gang, Ohio Players, Gil Scott Heron, Japan, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Perry Farrell, Nile Rodgers, Sly and the Family Stone. I am certain you've already done some of these artists and I haven't discovered them yet. Keep up the good work fellas.
