I've had an alarming amount of fully AI-generated videos recommended to me here on KZitem.

I've noticed over the last couple of months that almost all my searches yield mostly garbage. I can't tell what's content, what's AI generated pap or worse... adverts. If KZitem crosses the event horizon I won't miss internet. I'll just cancel unless my bride still wants Roku. I imagine it must be completely useless to have Siri, Alexa and Hey Google now. I mean, most people believe what they hear and that's usually complete falsehoods at best but it's much much worse lately.

Internet was singlehandendly destroyed by Google thats true but don't cross it out there are ways to access the quality content ... just more convoluted than before, similar to presearch engine times. News and articles? Curated RSS feed with more focus on personal blogs. Searches? Kagi is way better to reduce amount of trash, yet due to paid profile kinda limiting and you not always find the thing that you want. I have way better experience with using it. Etc. there are ways.

It's time to go back to using the internet like it was "before the internet". I'd like to see a grassroots uprising where we create a shadownet and get back to the wild frontier it was before tinsel and glitter happened. Curses on Tim Berners Lee, I'm not sure if he's the patron saint of "careful what you wish for" or if he's a djinn but no one saw the endgame of the WWW.

@@AggressiveHayBale It wasn't Google alone that destroyed the Internet. It was the whole business model of giving away "content" and making money on the ads. This model inevitably leads to a situation where garbage wins. Whether it's because of volume (just pump out trash and hope to get enough eyeballs via scale) or because of radicalization (the more controversial the content, the more likely people are to read and engage with the ads). At this point everybody's just out to scam as much money from as many people as possible. Almost nobody cares about quality or even the survival of the human race any more.

Two things i check when picking a vpn - does the company reside in one of the 5 eye countries. Second is it a country where the country can issue no disclosure subpoena to the VPN so the case does not get listed in the public record. Then i search through all public court records of the vpn i chose to see what they disclosed in court. Mullvad passes all of these tests. They have been taken to court many times and always say the same thing 'we don;t keep logs'.

How do you know they don't secretly leak information behind closed doors to le. This can just be a stunt to make the public trust them

I looked at it, it just smells like SAO optimization, copy paste content just by looking at their main page.

I think search results are adding to killing the web, and have tried half a dozen really alternative search engines. One where you even had to install a program on your own machine to aquire privacy as well. Have you done or can you do a video on this topic?
