Just a heads up, when running the RCA cable and the power cable from the amp to the front of the car you should run them on separate sides of the car because it can cause distortion in the audio.

Yes, Subarus AWD is very sensitive to different tire brands / models / sizes. But in an emergency you *could* drive on a spare tire to a tire shop or your house. I believe as long as it's less than 50 miles and drive slower than 50 MPH you *should* be ok.

Robbie i understand that the driver side of the engine bay looks cluttered but it's much easier to route wires through that side. There is a unused grommet behind the clutch petal on the firewall. I have 2 10's and have 0 Guage running throughout the car and it doesn't interfere with the petals whatever. and make it easy to tuck the wiring into the trim aswell. Use this information as you wish, love the content.

For most older subaru there's back up signal brown/yellow eire near the passenger footwear main harness. Just tap into that. Otherwise do it the back from the reverse light bulb. The signal connect to purple on atoto harness to provide reverse signal. I like using permenant accessories wire from the headunit ( just splice) for power so I can look at the camera anytime.

hey robbie, i think you should try someday a spare tire sub, they are kind of expensive for what they are tbh, but the oem second hand are pretty good, there are ones that have an amp built in to them so they take less space and use less cables, the bad part about those is that they arent adjustable at all, well you can put a external pasive filter but thats more wires and more space soo... the good part is that you can use the speaker with a normal amp and since the amp is smaller than a sub box you would still gain space

You shouldn’t put the power wire and sound wires together on one side because you’ll get distortions in the sound, especially if your not using a powercap. I don’t know everything about it but I always put power on one side of the car and sound on the other side
@kramal1ce
Жыл бұрын
As much as I like good music in cars, I don't like this particular audio upgrade. Power cables should go on the other side from audio cables. Cheapest audio wiring kit from amazon actually will do the work, but it'll be better if you used 100% copper wires instead of copper-plated aluminium ones. It could be done better with the same money, I guess, but if it fits your vision I should stop teaching you rn
@matasblot3606

Ok first off you used cca wiring instead of ofc... aka cca wires are shit. Also you ran the rcas right next to power wire which is a big no no since it will cause a dirty signal. Other than that should be fine. Speaking from experience rn i have 153+db build 🤙🤙

"Having something done is better than having something perfect" I've been struggling with this aspect lately. Someone backed into my dodge challenger, I finally got my dream car and someone backed into it. The body shop I brought it to did a crap job painting it. None of the front panels line up, the car is 3 different colors, and it generally looks like junk. I've got over 3k in suspension, another 3k in wheels and tires, but yet I don't want to drive it because it's ugly. I feel embarrassed to drive it because I was stupid and should have taken it somewhere else. I am in love with this car but never drive it because I think it's ugly and not what I wanted. Robbie, you helped me remember that it still runs and drives, it's still fast, and it's still a super fun car! To hell with ugly, I should love it regardless, maybe I'll learn how to paint this summer, maybe I'll build a mad max challenger with a custom welded front end. Thank you Robbie, I should be grateful for what I have and enjoy it for what it is.

Pep boys used to sell conversion kits that were plug n play, one harness for radio (Kenwood,Sony, etc.) And one harness for your make and model and they had matching plugs, I could take radio out civic and throw in my explorer in seconds and not have to cut a single wire... Don't know if they have these anymore though
