Why be proud of someone just because? If they haven’t done anything, there’s nothing to be proud of. Being proud of your child can be as simple as being proud of them having honor role or straight A’s (Principal’s List) in school. If a child hasn’t done anything, what would you be proud of lol them being born?

@@ryanbailey3176 None of what you said supports the argument that parents should be proud no matter what. That’s dumb logic that a parent owes their child proudness simply because they decided to have them. If a child hasn’t done anything, what would their parents have to be “proud” of? And it doesn’t have to be something big. It can be as simple as a toddler taking their first steps, a child learning to ride their bike, a teenager finally learning how to drive, a teenager learning how to cook a family recipe, etc. However, you can’t be proud of your child if they haven’t done anything, especially if what they did wasn’t worth being proud of such as a 16 year old doing the dishes; that’s a regular chore for someone that age. Are you suggesting that parents should be proud of their kids for simply existing? For doing absolutely nothing?

I’ve NEVER agreed with Simon so much as when he laid it in the line about dropping the gangsta attitude- it just made him come across as someone to be avoided. I don’t know if you picked up on his reaction to being hugged by Dermot, he literally pulls away from Dermot with a look on his face that screams “keep your hands off me white boy…” and then goes in for a tight hug with the bald black guy. I know this is an old video but it wouldn’t surprise me to find out he didn’t manage to keep on the straight and narrow - and the electronic ankle jewellery he wore at that audition wasn’t his last.
@goblin.2618

He’s a sixteen year old kid with a rough life. He was being hugged by a stranger versus his brother. Keep your negative, disgusting attitude away from old videos of kids. By the way Simon never called him a ‘gangsta’ you racist piece of shit. He was acting like a teenage boy, and Simon lectured him like a father and said he LIKED Curtis. Troubled kids happen when they have bad lives. Its sad that you’re so privileged and ignorant you automatically blame the teenager for having problems even when they want to change their life. You’re the exact reason why troubled kids stay troubled-no one believes in them. I might be a university honors student that’s never even gotten pulled over for a traffic violation, but at least I’m smart enough to understand very basic psychology and have a sense of empathy.
