This is a truly impressive man. He collects money for charities and gives away firearms so people can protect themselves. The best safes we had at work were called "class 6" That meant someone who knew what they were doing could open it in about 6 minutes without destroying the documents inside. Security is only about slowing people down.

All of these gun room vault doors have escape mechanisms. Besides it's easier to OUT of a vault than IN to a vault. I would advise anyone to leave common hand tools inside the vault and be familiar of how it works if they're worried about getting locked in...

That's a very nice vault. I don't have near as many firearms as you do but what I do have will fit in a 32 gun Liberty safe. I actually have too many firearms in there ever since my dad gave me all of his guns. A 32 gun safe will hold 50 long guns and 10 handguns, just be sure to put gun socks on your long guns if you're worried about getting them scratched.

That's not a safe that is a vaguely safe shaped chunk of metal. A real safe you would not have gotten through that easily. Take a look at a GSA approved security safe.

The comments amuse me, good job on doing it and not making a mess. Anyone who knows security knows it is just a layered system. The walls probably not more than 400mm thick so a cut off saw running off 3 phase could zip out the reinforced wall in 10minutes. Even if its 3ft thick reinforced concrete stitch coring with diamond tipped barrels off a 10kw generator would be through in no time. Security is relative, the bears patrolling the property border are probably the best deterrent behind the .44 on the bedside 😂

Looks very much like you can fix it and use it as a 2nd door (as a backup). Then you can have 2 doors and never worry about being locked out again. edit: I really hope you don't throw it out or destroy it. It could be easily fixed to 100%.

Those diamond coated cutting disc's suck and are expensive. Only bonus is that they don't explode and injure the user like aluminum oxide does sometimes or create excess dust.

I cannot believe you paid $1500 for that piece of garbage, you are correct it would take a locksmith about a minute, I was one of those who said call a locksmith trying to save you from a lot of problems, I had no idea it was junk like that, but you just carry on taking the piss out of people trying to help you! I am a locksmith and for $1500 you would think you would get at least one re-locker and those electric locks are crap even though it was not the lock this time, in fact you just made it easier now the handle works in England a gun safe has to be of a minimum standard by law not from a toy shop!

@@mikeweatherford5312 If it had been a glass plate re-locker the cutting disc vibration could have set it off I always boroscope doors like that just in case. Nice to talk to another lock smith US or UK. But you to must have been shocked by the poor quality of the item, I am used to rosenberg safes with 10 bit keys and mechanical combination lock with four re-lockers on a glass plate. In the UK a gun safe has to have anti jimmy doors two 7 lever British Standard Locks with another 7 lever on the separate ammunition compartment, all locks must be protected by hardened steel anti drill plates, and all this is law, so you can understand my shock at Yankees door! I wish you all the best and maybe we will get to discuss another case on here.

Cheap safes. With better ones u would have to use a chopsaw/ cutoff saw and cut an opening on one of the sides or back. The best ones need a torch or plasma cutter.

That's why when I get a new safe,I'll soke a handful of Viagera in a glass of water, then wipe it gently down. Seems to stay hardened to Saint Valentines day ,then another wipedown is required.This is a common occurrence, when you show more LOVE for your guns,than your safe.lol.

Your safe is just the most basic part of your security. It works against non-professionals, and it keeps honest people honest. Beyond that, you need motion, sensors, alarms, cameras, dogs, and most importantly insurance.

A digital combination lock generally has a three to five year lifespan while a mechanical safe lock will, in many cases, last the life of the safe if serviced every few years. I've seen people locked out of their safes wait months for the safe manufacturer to help them open their safe...

Thanks for the entertainment but an experienced locksmith/safe technician could have opened the hole with a small 1/4" hole or better yet without drilling the door at all! From your video it appears the handle came off, having the handle arbor exposed and then the handle cam slipped out of the receiving end of the bolt work. All that had to be done was to re-align the handle cam into the bolt work, enter the combination and turn the handle arbor to open. But, it's your safe...if you want to destroy it then it's your prerogative to do so.

One night I went down a KZitem rabbit hole of breaking into safes and found out most suck.. I learned if you get one bolt it down to the ground because all can be broken into its just a matter of time so make it a pain in the ass.

Most burglars aren't gonna even mess with a safe; they want easy money and they leave. If you have to worry about the safe being forced, you'd better buy way up in design and quality, as well as the usual other measures (alarms, CCTV, armed guard dogs, Tomboy Ninjas, etc.)
