In the final event of the NMAI's 2018 Summer Lecture Series on Saturday, August 25th, Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts spoke about the art of Zentangle, a method they developed of using simple, repetitive patterns to create visually impressive images while improving focus and creativity.
Thomas and Roberts discussed what the Zentangle Method is, how it began, and how easy it is to learn. By combining the lecture with images and demonstrations, they related familiar Zentangle patterns to the artistry found throughout the NMAI - in both its art and its architecture.
