@@peteredie9108 To be fair, there's at least a belief that a guitar with different woods will make a sonic difference. I don't see any reason for a guitar stand to be made of a fancy wood, other than vanity, though.

That's.... actually really frickin cool. The guitar acts as its own counterweight, in a way, which dampens the amount the guitar and the stand swing. That or the center of mass of the system is so low that it would take one hell of a knock to get it to tip over. Very neat

$150-$200? I'll just hangem' on the wall, vintage or newer.. I have a friend that has a half a million dollar guitar collection and every guitar is on the wall all the way around his house. His Father was a pretty famous guitarist in the 50's and 60's and he acquired his Fathers collection , plus has added his own collection as well over the years. It's all Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, and PRS. He is a blind man and he cant see the beautiful guitars, but can play them and touch them. It's his world. He also likes having his Wife drive him around really fast in their Corvette and Saleen Mustang... So blessed, but so cursed?

Cool story, and good idea. You can see in the video Phil has a spot in his house where these are perfect and a hanger wouldn't work. I'm betting that's true for a lot of people who have odd spaces, windows, or wives who want to put it away when they entertain guests. :)

Great idea. BUT...if you want something that looks nice, and you don't sit within arms reach of suitable wall space, you might appreciate having your nice acoustic sit on this next to your studio desk, with a Tele on the other side...so you can just reach over and grab them. Safe....looks great. And a fraction of the value of the guitars that sit on them.

I could go on a full on Cat rant, about how they shred the furniture, bring live creatures into the house, about how loud squirrels can scream when they're feeling unsafe, about how lizards tails break off, about snakes... but let me talk instead about how two cats chase each other around. It's like a Cat party sometimes. The walls and furniture are the race course, and my month old Rickenbacker 12 string, the unfortunate victim. You may as well consider sandbags as well. They're also decorative. Anything to protect the instruments we appreciate. Thanks Phil! Nicely done!

I use the Hercules Auto Grip stands. I normally play Organ and am learning to play the guitar while keeping the bass on the Pedal Clavier. Great product and advice. One tip.. Never leave a instrument plugged in on a stand. Seen more than I care get smacked down when someone snags one with their foot or dragging something across it. Freebie tip. Also never put a instrument in a case "for a break" and close it without latching it. Maybe time will pass and you will go to pickup the case and dump it on the floor. I know this.

I started using A-frame style guitar stands because they are also hard to knock over due to their low center of gravity and they don't cost an arm and a leg. They average about $20 USD although if you look around you can get them for as low as $7 to $10! I also think that they show the guitar off to better advantage.
