your comments and ticker tape running below is like sitting the the cab and talking to the driver. You feel part of the crew and not just a passenger. They are greatly appreciated and I have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you very much.

As usual, an interesting and enjoyable trip, Don, although I did miss the ticker's useful commentary and the train details. If nobody else agrees on this, well, that happens quite often and I'll survive. Cheers.

coming out of theale yard would give most diesel loco anoraks a religious experience, a class 66 Power and an EWS ahhhhhhhh. the sound in my TS22 simulator class 66 is practically identical. aws sounds signal ahead indicator tone, air noise from brakes and if i use the vibration mode on my rail driver controller it really vibrates as well. cracking video as usual will probably watch it a few times.

My work here is done! Haha, thanks Chris, I know it adds a lot and wherever I can I include it. I’ve got to be careful because some yards are private and the owners are very sensitive about safety. There will be more freight so keep an eye open for notifications.

Yes your comments and observations on your excellent videos are interesting and informative which many people are happy with BUT, sometimes I’m trying to take in the scenery and another bit of info comes up and of course feel compelled to look at it. It would be nice to have the option to sometimes turn them off, or restricted to major events only. I’m being honest

I take your point but isn’t that what this video does. The videos allow access to an otherwise privileged viewpoint and I can do it under the condition it helps charity. I get complaints about adverts and captions like I’ve charged the going rate of £20-£25 for a DVD. KZitem doesn’t support a with or without captions - the one you’ve commented on doesn’t have them for that very reason.

I am sorry for another question: and the distance between the sound signal and the light signal ?? Its about 200 meteres ??

If that was a guess, it was a good one! The official distance is 200 yds or 183m but it can vary considerably especially in built up areas.

I can see a former c2c Class 387/3 that GWR used to hire which has now been cascaded to Great Northern along with the 3 Class 387/3s from c2c. GWR could of kept the 6 Class 387/3s to work alongside with the Class 387/1 and would of also been used on Reading-Newbury shuttle.

It’s not always straight forward Andrew. These unit types are locked into contracts with the owing companies and what seems to make perfect sense cannot fit into various plans. We lost the 170s at TPE which was frustrating but we couldn’t fit in with the contract proposals.

Don, why not put the "ticker captions" into the closed captions facility. Then your viewers would have the option of watching them, or not, and you would only have to uplpoad one video.

@doncoffey5820

It depends on the signal spacing which is designed to keep a train away from the one in front. In some locations you can very clearly see the next quite close but in others it could be literally miles away.

Yes, it’s a shunt neck. It will fit a loco which allows it to change sidings basically. It also serves as a trap to stop unauthorised movements off the depot.
