Your analogy of the book and the Grand Canyon is even better than you think. You should say you found a book in the woods where the author of the story was using a fake name and says they never saw your ancestor fly (like Saul the Jew using a fake name Paul said) but they read about it in an old book where it didn't say anything about your ancestor flying over the Grand Canyon but they used midrash to read something in that old book that wasn't even there.

Before any Christian claims antisemitism has "supernatural" causes I would hope they would have recognised that antisemitism is a Christian invention. I would also hope they would engage with the work of scholars like Rosemary Reuther and Lucy Dawidowicz.

2:21:15 I love that Christians say God reveals himself. They never seem to ask why God is hiding. It is as if God is a great deceiver. Telling an ultimate lie. All hiding is just telling a lie about where you are.

Maybe I’ll actually have to call in sometime, if you think it might be an interesting conversation, but not if it would be boring. I’ve jumped into the camp of differentiating free will from libertarian free will by using the terms “will” vs “free will” for the sake of clarity to others. We seem to have largely the same opinion by what I heard you say here. Where we differ slightly, and would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this, I see our set of choices as a probability distribution, in that our set of choices is limited to only those choices known to us at the time. If we were somehow able to go back in time, we most likely would make the same choice due to our life experience, however, depending on each situation taken individually, we could potentially make a different choice, if the given set of choices at the time had a probability distribution of 65/35 for example. Would be much easier to explain in conversation. I would be interested in your thoughts.

Damn, I missed this one live. I doubt I'll make a compelling case for Deism but I will stand by it and argue it makes a better case for existence of God/Source outside of religion and scripture. Deism affirms religion is man made and has become a license to not have any discussions besides "the bibble sez so, i believe and that settles it!" like it is a done deal or else you go to hell. Can we agree that Deists and Atheist are perfectly capable in having the adult conversation and maybe let the Agnostics in on it even though you personally think they're milquetoast? Pick a side you say. No, I say to anyone on a spiritual journey to keep searching and come to your own conclusions. Be kind, mister Doug. :) It seems to me you find Deism as very mundane form of theism since it's not as entertaining and hyperbolic like typical religious theists with their dogmas. Like Agnostics, Deists are not adamant about the answers and if anything you should love Agnostics and Deists more as both aren't afraid to say "I don't know" which is more of a honest answer than you'll get from any presup. And at least Deists don't condemn you for skepticism and neither will Agnostics.

2:18:35 I'm not convinced by this line of reasoning. If I offer my son $50 if he gets an A on his next report card and he gets it, did he get his $50 because of what he did or because of what I did in giving him the opportunity? By my grace, I gave him the opportunity to earn $50, but the rest was up to him. The answer is so inescapably "it is because of what both of us did."

Will taking Imodium AD change your future? "consistency imbalance" that phrasing should be reconsidered. This would be the analogy to the Zodiac en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shades_of_brown#/media/File:Color_icon_brown_v2.svg I think, astrology stops people from thinking about real cause and effects or the lack thereof. This could be bad for themselves; or others depending on what they are choosing to do.
