That's fantastic! Didn't your father Gary Mapp also play with Monk on a trio album featuring Art Blakey? I think it included "Bye-Ya" and "Monk's Dream."

This is wicked. All those ghosted notes! Sometimes neither trumpet, saxophone nor piano is playing them and you still feel them. Sometimes, since the low ghost note is a low D for Tenor sax (near the bottom of its range), it jumps out. Wicked.

It isn't Coltrane on tenor on this piece. I think it's Charlie Rouse. Monk takes the best solo himself, as usual -- short, sweet, and to the point.
