Phillip Sear plays a 1918 barcarolle (in all but name) by the American pianist and composer Blanche Ray Alden (1870-1934), writing under the pseudonym 'Theodora Dutton'.

I don't know much about Alden's career, except that she lived in Springfield, Massachusetts. She seems to have received attention from musical feminists as the author of 'Christmas Day Secrets', the only piece by a woman in the Suzuki piano repertoire books. She was a fan of Grieg, and wrote to him in the 1890s with a query about one of his songs.
I enjoyed playing this piece, although I think it is slightly let down by the weak transition between the middle section and the concluding section of the ABA form.
