Our culture... is an amazing book, quite sincerious and honest. A vision of our reality as it is, indeed.

A very wise man. He knows exactly what he's talking about because he's been immersed in prisons and hospitals for decades.

I have not read this particular book they are discussing, but I'm familiar with other books and I must say that what strikes me the most about Theodore is the fact that he is not only a clear, elegant and concise writer, but his credentials really impress a credibility upon his works that are truly hard to find nowadays.

I am not sure that I agree with his assessment of children in single-parent households except in a broad statistical sense, or that the state should incentivise marriage. This is a good book because he developed his ideas through work that gave him intimate views into the personal lives thousands of actual people.

@TCroy The definition of "family" in zoning codes is and should be hotly contested and watched over. Because there are all kinds of people in society and all kinds of families. It seems human nature to I was pleased by the advent of gay marriage, because it always seemed legally wrong to me that only hetero partners would get spousal medical coverage. I prefer the state to be neutral on our personal lives.

Voices like his are now almost completely forbidden in the UK. Don't follow us people.

Except that he's been published in some of the country's major newspaper and magazine (Telegraph, Spectator, Daily Mail, New Statesman, to name just a few), appeared as a speaker at the Oxford Union, has books published by British publishers and frequently gets invited onto media (the reason you don't see him on TV is that he almost always declines invites to appear on television because believes that the invention has been a "great social evil"). Cancel culture my arse.
