Yes, we used lavender as a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community before Gilbert Baker came along and invented the rainbow flag in 1978, and we still use it today. It's just not as well known as the rainbow these days. I love it, personally. Beautiful drop of clothes! 💜 I also always understood 28 as referencing Section 28. (UK legislation that prohibited the 'promotion of homosexuality' and that was in place from the 1980s to the early 2000s and that essentially closeted a lot of people). Though technically, that is of course an interpretation of a symbol Louis is using. It's just one that fits the context really well, so I'm sticking with that for now. He is reclaiming it (the number 28) and reappropriating it, like we reappropriated the word 'queer', turning it from an insult to a term empowerment. Louis is using the 28 as a symbol of queer resistance and empowerment. He said it's his lucky number in an interview with Smallzy not so long ago. He's turned what some might consider an unlucky number into a (his) lucky number. He is reshaping something that was meant to harm him into strength. It's beautiful and inspiring to watch. ❤

@@blue_adagio Yesss! I am also more inclined to think that Louis’ love for 28 comes from Section 28 (rather than September 28… which could have been deliberately chosen after Louis already had an interest in the number 28). I can’t really justify it with proofs, but I think that it fits his psychological profile that he could’ve been impacted by the consequences of this law in his youth (sadly, I have similar shameful legislation in my home country, so I can imagine the situation quite clearly) and later saw it as empowering to reappropriate it and make it his own.

@applecrust2638. I think he's drawing a parallel. You couldn't be openly gay working in education or in the public service under Section 28, and you couldn't receive public funding for music/art with queer content either. I see him saying that you can't be openly gay in the music industry (he couldn't). Queer musicians are being closeted even when they want to come out, at least as long as they don't have full ownership of their music and their public image. It's a systemic issue, it's a copy of a copy of a copy. Hopefully that's changing now, and artists entering the music industry will have more control to choose for themselves what is right for them in terms of the art they want to create and whether or when to come out. Sorry to hear about the legal situation in your country. 🤗 There is still a lot of work to do around equal rights for LGBTQ people around the world.

The pictures of Louis pointing are different pictures. He's pointing with different hands and also pointing in opposite directions. Besides that I love getting all the info through you 👍❤️😀

To add another LGBT use of lavender, the Morriña festival where Louis played a couple of days ago had a space dedicated to the community called Punto Violeta, or Purple Point (and lavender is a shade of purple). So it is indeed often used to designate queer-friendly spaces 🤗

Thank you. I did not know about the lavender connection, but it just happens that today I am wearing lavender shoes, turquoise, purple and lavender trousers, lavender earrings and a lavender ring. I hope I am sensing positive things coming soon.

I so enjoy your videos. Love our King Louis. Just saw on insta, Gemma posting a pic with her girlfriend at Harry's concert with Stevie Nicks. There is a small sliver of a person on the edge of that pic what appears (to me) to be a man in a gray hoodie! Do you suppose???? I mean everyone, including Harry's Mum has mentioned all the friends and family that enjoyed that performance. What are your thoughts? 💙💚

Another great video Camren. You must spend a lot of time and effort creating these so often for us. Thank you for that. I’m sorry but I don’t understand where the ‘PLANT A RAINBOW” and blue flower was or the meaning. I know the Polaris is a queer word and brand that Louis likes to promote. Thanks in advance for any help with this.
