Father Gary Thomas is one of the best exorcists in the world. I am a huge Roman Catholic and in our church we do battle demons in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Don't think for even a second that we do exorcisms without our savior. The angels and saints have stories and devotions we can follow ourselves because they help guide us. The Archangel Michael battled Satan in the scriptures, even a protestant knows that. Sorry if you don't like the Catholic church, but we've been here for over 2000 years, i don't think we're doing too bad of a job.

What's interesting is you'll never hear these money chasing preachers on this stage teach on this topic because they want to keep it fluffy and light and it will require repentance which many churches don't promote much anymore. Ariana Stacey the Devil is just a derivative term for and descriptor for Satan. Devil is the Latin word equivalent of Demon. Sadly most Protestants don’t fully understand the difference is actually due to the language the gospels were written in. Mark was written predominantly in Greek with some Latin of I recall, Matthew was the only one written in Hebrew and John was written in Greek. But yes Demon is just the Greek term for devil.

He's in the Diocese of San Jose, but like the person above said, if you contact him from outside that diocese he will probably just try to get you in touch with someone in your own area. From what I've heard, the Catholic Church in this country now has 50 trained exorcists. Well short of the one in every diocese requirement, but considering that before Fr. No one would deny a little girl the opportunity to tell someone that she loves her father. Common sense tells us that Jesus wasn’t forbidding this type of use of the word "father." To forbid it would rob the address "Father" of its meaning when applied to God, for there would no longer be any earthly counterpart for the analogy of divine Fatherhood. The concept of God’s role as Father would be meaningless if we obliterated the concept of earthly fatherhood. In the Bible the concept of fatherhood is not restricted to just our earthly fathers and God. It is used to refer to people other than biological or legal fathers, and is used as a sign of respect to those with whom we have a special relationship. Joseph tells his brothers of a special fatherly relationship God had given him with the king of Egypt: "So it was not you who sent me here, but God; and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house and ruler over all the land of Egypt" (Gen. 45:8) Job indicates he played a fatherly role with the less fortunate: "I was a father to the poor, and I searched out the cause of him whom I did not know" (Job 29:16). And God himself declares that he will give a fatherly role to Eliakim, the steward of the house of David: "In that day I will call my servant Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah . . . and I will clothe him with [a] robe, and will bind [a] girdle on him, and will commit . . . authority to his hand; and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah" (Is. 22:20-21). This type of fatherhood not only applies to those who are wise counselors (like Joseph) or benefactors (like Job) or both (like Eliakim), it also applies to those who have a fatherly spiritual relationship with one. Elisha cries, "My father, my father!" to Elijah as the latter is carried up to heaven in a whirlwind (2 Kgs. 2:12). Elisha himself is called a father by the king of Israel (2 Kgs. 6:21). As we’ve seen, the imperative "call no man father" does not apply to one’s biological father. It also doesn’t exclude calling one’s ancestors "father," as is shown in Acts 7:2, where Stephen refers to "our father Abraham," or in Romans 9:10, where Paul speaks of "our father Isaac." Paul refers to himself as a father "for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel" There are numerous examples in the New Testament of the term "father" being used as a form of address and reference, even for men who are not biologically related to the speaker. There are, in fact, so many uses of "father" in the New Testament, that the false interpretation of Matthew 23 (and the objection to Catholics calling priests "father") must be wrong. A careful examination of the context of Matthew 23 shows that Jesus didn’t intend for his words here to be understood literally. The whole passage reads, "But you are not to be called ‘rabbi,’ for you have one teacher, and you are all brethren. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called ‘masters,’ for you have one master, the Christ" (Matt. 23:8-10). The first problem is that although Jesus seems to prohibit the use of the term "teacher," in Matthew 28:19-20, Christ himself appointed certain men to be teachers in his Church: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations . . . teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." Paul speaks of his commission as a teacher: "For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle . . . a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth" (1 Tim. 2:7); "For this gospel I was appointed a preacher and apostle and teacher" (2 Tim. 1:11). He also reminds us that the Church has an office of teacher: "God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers" (1 Cor. 12:28); and "his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers" (Eph. 4:11). There is no doubt that Paul was not violating Christ’s teaching in Matthew 23 by referring so often to others as "teachers." Fundamentalists themselves slip up on this point by calling all sorts of people "doctor," for example, medical doctors, as well as professors and scientists who have Ph.D. degrees. What they fail to realize is that "doctor" is simply the Latin word for "teacher." Even "Mister" and "Mistress" ("Mrs.") are forms of the word "master," So if his words in Matthew 23 were meant to be taken literally, Fundamentalists would be just as guilty for using the word "teacher" and "doctor" and "mister" as Catholics for saying "father." But clearly, that would be a misunderstanding of Christ’s words. Jesus is not forbidding us to call men "fathers" who actually are such-either literally or spiritually. To refer to such people as fathers is only to acknowledge the truth, and Jesus is not against that. What then did Jesus mean? Do you want to know the truth? Or do you wish to remain blind to it?

Usually the majority of atheists use to once believe in God (meaning you knew he was real. Still hold on to that.), they just gave up when the results wasn't quick enough for them, or a tragic event made them doubt. You are fair to feel that way, but Christ don't work that way b/c he is not a Genie. If you stick with what you once believed and followed his word, results will have happened. He is still the same God and he is true. He never left you and still trying to gain you back as long as you are breathing. Its still up to you.

@mattbellacotti
4 жыл бұрын
denis avdic the. Don’t call your own father your father. I suggest you actually go to read further what Christ says rather than spitting verses without the complete knowledge or fullness of the rest of the chapter. St Paul it is Epistles also say to his congregation that he is their FATHER in spiritual matters. Christ also went further and said to call no man his Master and no one his Teacher. He was speaking to the point in which he was conveying that he is the ultimate provider of truth and ultimately salvation. We Catholics know this. I use to be Protestant until I learned the truth. Jesus didn’t say we can’t call someone else our father. Otherwise you best stop referring to your earthly father as such. In which case if you have children you cannot call yourself father. See how silly that sounds? Read the letters of St. Paul. Before you criticize a tradition and faith you don’t understand. You don’t have the sacraments. Jesus said unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you. John 6:66 look it up. While you’re at it look at what the original translation from the original Greek said. Then you’ll know that the Protestant deformation was a lie. Come home to the true Church brother. We will help you along the way.

Peter Jongsma for one we don’t know how long it took. Bear in mind the gospels weren’t written in the way our times tend to write things. If you read them they sound like they played out over the course of a few months but actually they all take place over the course of around 3 years. Secondly of Course Christ can cast them out immediately he’s GOD! Secondly demons can only possess a person of God allows it. For he is all powerful and only allows these things to happen to draw others to deeper belief and love in him.

Deliverance prayer may take a couple of hours. But in a case of true demonic possession it can take a long time. Exorcists have had non-Catholic ministers approach them because they could not cast out a severely possessed individual. (BTW: Indeed, Catholics are Christians as are Protestants. On a strictly ethical level, those are the two branches of Christianity in the West. Any other assertion comes either from being innocently mislead or simply accepting a deficient or dishonest or obscured story of history.) Glory to Jesus Christ, Now and Forever. +Peace+

Ok another thing could it be that the person is wanting to keep that spirit inside them or do they really really want that thing out

Excellent point! It could be that they are holding on to some attachment to sin of which they may NOT even be aware. Alternately, as one exorcist noted, 90% of the effort must be made on the part of the person who is possessed to "repent and believe the Good News", while the work of the exorcist in all of this is the remaining portion. Even God cannot touch our Free Will, if we do not surrender it all in fact as well as in word. I agree with you, Frederick Davis. +Peace+

While he was describing the situation it seems like they've been dealing with this man for 4 years in different occurrences because every time you fall back into the same act of sin.. Or what had you Bound in the first place.. you bring back seven stronger demons.. maybe that's what he was talking about

Belgium maybe you should tell the apostle Paul that 1 Corinthians 4:15 15 Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

So bascally all those "possessions" are either: 1) Subjective feelings of people that are later interpreted in personal ways, showing no actual proof (someone's 'feelings' aren't reliable enough. Let's say I have a strong 'feeling' there are mermaids -- does that make it so?) 2) medical conditions. Go pick a hobby Gary

He is calling on the angel Michael and not G-d himself to remove these spirits. That is where Catholicism differs from the Protestant belief.

Jesus is the "God of the living not of the dead." (Mark 12:27) That means that Catholicism has always understood that those who are here below and those who are in glory are in communion with one another. Therefore, just as you would ask a fellow believer in the Lord Jesus to pray for your intentions and know that that is part of God's design of petition, similarly Saint Michael is literally asked, "by the power of God" (!), to render service that glorify His Name. When we die we do not forget about those on earth but, in charity, are even more willing, through God's power and might, to intercede for others. Thank God! +Peace+

rrhymsyr Actually apostates and heretics are defined as those who personally abandon the Church, in fact or in some form of new teaching, having been formal members of Catholicism. Ethically speaking, the aforesaid do not apply to modern members of any protestant community. It is just as wrong to call Catholics "a bunch of non-Christians..." So... In all things, charity.” --Saint Augustine +Peace+

They called on St. Michael to help restrain him. I understand your concern, but understand who the Archangel Michael is, and what he has done. The exorcism is all about Christ; don't think otherwise.

There no such things as atheists, the true atheists are the ones that “never existed”. The original atheist were philosophical atheist that coukd not conceive intellectually the arguments Theist philosophers made in favor of a divine creator. Recent “atheist” have veiled their anger with this anti-theistic (atheist) ideology against religion and the spiritual make themselves seem intelligent, but that is against reason. Self-pronounced “atheists” are just Agnostics who have given up searching for answers to metaphysical (spiritual) questions. The god of reason, the one that so call “a-theists” reject and “theists” logically conclude, which are both products of our creative imagination, is the NOT the same as the sovereign God who, by power of the Holy Spirit, was born of Mary, served and died for us; which is totally irrational because no human would logically reason that the Creator should love you so much until death and for all eternity. No atheist or theist can logically conclude: “That god does not exists or That god therefore exists” even better: “god is not supposed to do that, why? because no god has ever done that before”. Open yourself to God’s love.
