Ahhh you actually reacted to the demo! Both the demo and final version are great but there’s some differences in lyrics I think you might appreciate in the final version!

Age of Delilah is also a really good unreleased song by Ethel, she wrote the song for her sister whose name is Delilah!

this is such a good song :') my favorite unrealesed (and my favorite song ever at the moment) is "homecoming", i'm literally so obsessed with it. but there are so many good unrealeseds; half-cocked, tongue, two children in a motel, wacos texas, 78 fahrenheit, dust bowl (which is probably going to be in the album that comes out in november, crossing fingers🤞🙏) and many others🥲

I love this Ethel Cain journey we’re on. I say “we” because we discovered Ethel around the same time. The first time I heard this song, I thought she was writing about being SA’d by two brothers from church - while simultaneously crushing hard on one of her rapists (pre and post SA). That was just my take at least.

Thank you Alex for this reaction, this is one of my favorite songs by Ehel Cain, your reaction videos are always like a study session of Ethel's masterful artistry in storytelling. CRYING DURING SEX for me* translates to toxic intimacy, being attached to unhealthy emotions that usually result in tears or pain which is what 'CRYING'' could be symbolizing. These unhealthy emotions are hard habits to let go of or difficult to disconnect from, thus creating intense levels of vulnerability and this feeling embodies the pleasure of pain DURING SEX. The interesting part is the sound/melody of the song, which is in contrast to the lyrics....almost romanticizing the toxicity of this toxic intimacy. The sound of the song further helps us understand the state of Ethel's Cain, which could be analyzed as reflective if not introspective, which seems good and not depressing as she's able to view her actions and scrutinize her behavior against the toxic intimacy (.whhich could be the beginning of healing and letting go). The reference to GOD alludes to her need for help and healing, from herself and her relation with Toxic intimacy.
