You may have heard of this before many times, or, this could be totally something new to you. Do anime figures come in different versions? The short answer is yes. However, we are not talking about genuine figures vs bootleg or counterfeit figures here. Both versions are genuine, so, what is the difference?
In Asia - especially Malaysia and perhaps China, anime figures are often marketed as either Japan version or Distributor version - sometimes also called Asia version. Some people call the latter China version, which is inaccurate. And then there is the narrative where a Japan version anime figure is superior in quality control over distributor version. Where did this narrative come from, and the myths surrounding this topic, let's address this in today's video.
