The Abandoned MOD Railway hidden away and forgotten
In the small village of Hilton in Derbyshire there is a little Abandoned and Disused Railway hidden away in some woodland.
Built and opened over 100 years ago, the sidings would have originally been used as part of the station and railway around Eggington Junction. In the 1950s these sidings were expanded for the purpose of the MOD Hilton site.
These tracks have remained abandoned for over 40 years.
