I always love the handdyed pojects you show and I think it would be so interesting to have a video, where you show them all and maybe even how you store them? I'd be so interested :) just an idea i had whilst watching :)) Note: You could do a combined video with destashing and sorting out plans and stuff!!!

Chelsea-have you considered doing a stash tour video? There may be skeins that show themselves as ones that need to be rehomed to fulfill their yarny potential. I enjoy seeing these kind of videos because it gives me inspiration for yarns and patterns! Regarding superwash yarn…I would not use it for cables. Cables need a sturdier yarn and SW will stretch and go limp. I’ve stopped making garments out of SW yarn and I am still looking for a non-SW/nylon or silk blend sock yarn bc I don’t enjoy the feel of SW socks on my feet. My Fletching is going to be the next sweater I cast on and I cannot wait! I’m finishing up the Mia sweater first because I know I will stop working on it (again) if I cast on something new! Have a fabulous week! Christina

Thanks so much for the comment Christina! I thought about doing a stash tour video at some point last year (maybe early this year?) but I'm not sure I could handle it honestly 😅 we'll see. I think those decisions may need to be made off camera, LOL. And yes, I've found a simpler pattern for the superwash yarn that I can't wait to share next episode! Definitely going with a lofty non-SW yarn for the cable sweater. OMG I'm so excited you're making a My Fletching, that's on my list for this fall! I would love to see it!

I really can relate to craving fall knitting 😅 I casted on two light fingering weight summer projects (tombo tee and a camisole) during the past few weeks (I donˋt know why I thought that was a good idea😂) and sometimes it even feels like Iˋm knitting backwards as there seemingly is so little progress. Iˋm so looking forward to finishing those asap and casting on my „Wednesday“ and „Festival“ sweater with beautiful handdyed yarn from Olivia&Oliver fibers☺️ Those sweaters will feel like theyˋre flying off the needles in comparison to my summer knits😄 I love the rainbow yarn you used for the Audrey Top! At first I wasnˋt into the pattern but I really like how yours turned out☺️

So many beautiful projects!! 😍 I definitely think your concern about using superwash with the Sveaborg sweater is valid- a structured, textural sweater like that would definitely age better with a rustic, woolen-spun yarn. I've used Lore a number of times before and I think that would be an AWESOME choice! My favorite sweater of all time was knit using Lore, and I wore it 2-3X weekly for the last 2 fall/winter seasons. It just becomes more beautiful with age & wear and I think for the amount of work that would go into the Sveaborg, it deserves a hearty, well-wearing wool like that :) Also side note, when you held up your striped Audrey top and green sweetheart tank they reminded me of salmon sashimi and wasabi and now I want sushi! 😂

That tweedy superwash would make a BEAUTIFUL Andrea Mowry Traveler. I had a sweater’s quantity worth of super-wash I purchased before realized it wasn’t what I loved working with, and just made it for my husband. It draped BEAUTIFULLY, as I didn’t really want it to keep the bouncy, caterpillar-like texture, but it ended up working up PERFECTLY for that pattern.

I'm loving your videos so much, everything you make is so stylish and inspiring! Could you make a video describing why you choose to always pair with Mohair? I would love a video on your knitting style and tips/tricks for going a little faster.
@truelaneknits
11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Jacquelyn! I definitely don't use mohair on all of my projects, typically only if it's called for in the pattern! Personally, I just love the way mohair looks and feels, it adds a whimsical look to knitwear. For me, it doesn't really depend on if it's financially "worth it" or not, it just depends on whether you like the look and feel because that's the biggest difference (it is expensive though, so there's really no downside to leaving it out if you're not a die-hard mohair fan!). Regarding speed, I'm really a binge knitter! I will go days without knitting and then for a few days in a row, knit every morning and every evening when I'm not working (and usually stay up way too late...) I'm not an extremely fast stitcher by any means, but I do devote many hours to the craft every week. ☺ thanks for your wonderful questions and thoughtful comment!

I love your stripe hype sweater! it reminds me of red leaves in the mountain fog. so pretty! I am also planning on making a Sveaborg pullover this autumn, using Lore in the dark green. I do think a superwash yarn will be too drapey/unstructured for this - I want a collar that can stand up on its own for full dramatic effect. I think the SW tweed would look great as a more fitted Eva cardigan or other set-in-sleeve-esque cardigan. Tweed always reminds me of academia and blazers. I think a stockinette pattern would really let the beautiful tweed shine! I would love to see a stash tour/queue video! I love getting inspiration from what others are planning to knit.

First of all, I love your videos! Second, I'm making the Melange Sweater right now and not loving it. I only swatched knitting flat and discovered that the way I hold my yarn when knitting flat is dramatically different than knitting in the round, and I was getting major pooling when knitting in the round... so long story short I'm knitting the entire thing flat and planning to seem it together at the end in order to make sure the fabric is consistent throughout the entire garment. If you do decide to make this pattern, definitely learn from my mistake and make two swatches ahead of time (one flat and one in the round) to ensure the way the yarns marl look the same!
