It’s nice to see Adam running the crane again. He’s definitely a good fit for it. Cautious and super attentive to detail. I vote Adam for designated operator for when the monkey beaver crew gets a second crane👍

What a delight to hear how you both communicate and work cautiously. Adam gets an "A". August gets an "A" for letting go of control.

Was surprised that August let someone else do it tbh, I understand why, if something goes wrong then the blame is on him as the boss... I'm that way with my company but I don't own a crane sadly so only climbing here :( Good job Adam and August, you guys are amazing

A friend of mine lost a finger to a crane accident - he was working during his uni holidays at a steel mill. He was fitting a sling and the crane operator hit the wrong control. He shouldn't have had his finger in a dangerous spot - but being a crane operator caries a lot of responsibility. (Same as being a groundsman with ropes and chippers - nice work Adam - August has such a great crew)

This is a fantastic video! Love seeing the trust and the teaching. Being up in a tree with a guy getting experience on the crane is a hairy proposition and it shows that you have a high degree of trust in Adam, even as he is learning. Also, truly excellent point that just because you can pick it, doesn't mean you can safely swing it and set it down without exceeding capacity!

Really nice to see the steps taken to set up each pick. Lots of other videos just show the pick floating out without showing the interaction of the climber and crane operator to establish the preload/tension on the crane. Like he said: Uneventful is good. "may you live in boring times" heh heh.

Great job Adam crane operator's get paid big bucks!!! When the boom is short wouldn't it be easier to have the climber let the operator know when the tension is correct. I can't imagine the boom would flex much if it is shorter. I can see it if it extended but you can't see everything from a video.
