yeah, I dunno if he is underrated. At the time, he was rated high as a guitarist. Of course, a fair few "brit rock" bands were evolutions from great bands like the Stone Roses. John Squire - now that's a good guitarist. You can see how Coxon and others were influenced.

Some moments when the hands get loose enough and fluid , that this can sound so good and extremely satisfying to get down. The intro riff is one of those where concentration seems to kill it but keep coming back to it and it falls into place. Great lesson

When I heard those guitar chords in 91 as a kid I then knew then somehow that Indie was going to take over the UK and it did. Thing is most kids were listening to 60's bands music at that time and it was going to happen, it was an undercurrent culture bursting through. Weirdest thing is I grew up just accross the road from Goldsmiths college in the mid 80's the college where these tunes were being born by Coxon

Back in the day I didn't appreciate the angular style of playing from Coxon and was annoyed at having to listen to Parklife 18 times per day, but after I fell in love with Beetlebum I reevaluated their whole catalogue, and now I love exactly the angular aspect of Coxon's playing. :D
