C. W. McCall as the stage/recording name of radio DJ Bill Frees. His original recordings were backed up by musicians who would later become known as Mannheim Steamroller.
This song is special to me, because it exemplifies what happened to the country I live in. When I first came to Angels Camp, in Calaveras County, CA, I had to driver over the Stanislaus River via an old bridge, near water level. The Stanislaus was a white-water river. In the 1980's they dammed it and created a lake - New Mellones.
Anyway, I thought you might like to hear C. W. again, knowing a couple of things you might not have known before.
