Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention
The mining industry has made significant progress reducing serious injuries and fatalities over the past decades. However, our collective progress has plateaued in recent years, indicating that we still have a long way to go in achieving our collective mission of zero lives lost and zero lives harmed by an occupational illness or injury.
This episode of #TheSafetyShare, sponsored by Pan American Silver, will introduce the concept of the Global Mining Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) Study Group, and will include an update on the group findings to date. The study group represents a cross-section of the global mining industry and is collaborating to advance our understanding of the foundations and fundamental concepts around SIF causation and prevention.
Join guest interviewer John Doyle of SolutionStream Performance Improvement Group and SIF Study Group participants Michael Hajaistron of dss+ and Dallas Cain of Teck Resources as guest speakers for an open discussion on what SIF prevention is, the purpose of the SIF Study Group, and the process it is following to identify and unlock best-in-class solutions to re-energize our collective momentum towards preventing fatalities and serious injuries.
