Narcissists are destroyers. They take everything - your money, your physical health, your mental health, your relationships, your identity. There are some really great youtube channels for narcissistic abuse recovery. Hope you can recover. I'm in the same boat, lost it all. It's a struggle. but being away from the narc is worth it. I'd live in a cardboard box before going back. The best thing I did was committing 100% to absolute no contact with the abuser. Best wishes friend.

The Millionaire Next Door is an Awesome read. It was eye opening for me. Everyone should read this book and learn the truth about people who have wealth and those who don’t. My friend works at a local bank where there is a special area for the wealthy to do their business separate from the poor people like the most of us. She told me that the “rich” people did not look “rich” at all. They come in with shorts, flip flops and drive old cars. I was not so shocked but told her that her observations correlated with the book I had read. It’s true, very wealthy people do not look like the flashy influencer’s on social media.

They had gotten so off the deep end saving money that they forgot to live. Nicole seems to have a much better perspective and as evidenced in this video, good balance. I did the opposite. Sometimes I was such a tight wad, and in the end I realized that I should have gotten some things to make me more comfortable and to enjoy. But the reason I was so paranoid is I had seen lots of my parent's generation way overdo it with stuff, stuff, stuff, and this repulsed me. I ended up learning there is a line between too much and not enough for an individual. On the good side it helped me save up money!

You nailed it again Nicole! Delayed gratification alone with discipline in finance are key to getting ahead. People should also ask the question of any purchase "Do I need this" or "Do I want this" and answer this honestly and stick with the decision. Doing this allowed me to retire early and not have to do the grind job any longer!

Good video your cooking looks delicious. Owning a home is a lot of work, just remember these 3 things: 1) those jobs that may seem easy are not, 2) those 5 minute jobs can take up to several days due to you may think you have all the materials you need but you don't, and 3) you can grab your entire tool box to do a job and the tools you need are in the basement or garage. Tip: When painting, gluing or caulking always keep a damp rag handy. I also factor in medical cost as well: example sure I can rent the equipment to trim the trees in my yard but if I fall out of a tree, a trip to the emergency room will cancel what I would have saved. Saving money: Credit cards a great but pay them off monthly. Beware of companies/utilities that charge a 3 percent "convenience fee" for using your card. Pay in cash or check if that is the case. When it comes to investing be patient and don't panic. And this last one which was the first in the video I like to refer it to stop buying stuff you really don't need. Think about it for a few days before purchasing. "I am loving it McPukes" 🤣 that is a good one.

As for fixing drips. You mean after it’s dried, correct? You can use a scraper of it’s a large drip to knock of the bulk of it. Then sand smooth. If you chip some out, you can fill the divot, sand, prime and re coat. Also consider using a 14” or even an 18” roller pad over that small 9” roller. Use and extension pole that goes from 4-8’ even if you can reach without it. That way you can see the drips and runs forming and correct as you go. My partner and I would probably have 60-70 man hours in a three bed 1500 sq ft house to paint walls, trim and doors. And that’s assuming the walls are in decent shape to start.

Outsourcing has to be very strategic and selective. ANY contractor will subject you to : transit costs, indemnity & insurance, REGULATIONS COMPLIANCE COSTS. My 1st thought is always, "Can the Egyptian Method be applied?" Think, study, then eat the elephant one bite at a time (steady flow of work and raw materials). I've made (and held onto) a LOT of money that way. "You can walk to the top of any mountain." GREAT CHANNEL!

My dad has two cousins, brothers, who have lived their lives almost as if they wanted to make themselves a case study for this type of philosophy. They're both about 70 now, one was frugal, diligent, and saved his money. Worked a normal job but was able to retire at 60-ish, and he is very well off now. The other brother was profligate, and "yolo'ed" his life, and now everyone in his family is very nervous of him showing up on their doorstep, saying hey, I've come to stay. He has no savings, no pension, and no real assets. Still working crappy jobs.

Having to deal with tradesmen in the house can be more hassle than it is worth. Often they can do the job quicker but that can be because they rush it and the end result can be worse. That is if they show up on time and aren't on their phone all day. If it is a bad job then you may end up in a dispute. I like painting but you have to be taught how to do it properly, but it is one of the easy jobs that people can DIY

Time? Unless you work 7 days a week, you always have time to do stuff. Compound interest is a good concept, but in order to grow your money. GIC's and other interest bearing products, don't even cover inflation. Stocks and mutual funds, are the way to go, but their value is based on appreciation, not interest, unless you get dividend paying stocks/funds,and re-invest the proceeds. With stocks and funds, you may get a value, on paper, but no realized gains, until you sell. To which most advisors will tell you to buy and hold, so the hope is that the stocks/funds appreciate in value, when it is time to cash out.
