For the Yerba mate, you have to buy the real organic leafs at a health food store and make an actual tea out of it. The sugary artificial drinks in the store don’t count. It’s bad silly a caffeine kick with a little extra something else.

Former elite powerlifter here - You're closer than you think on the deadlift. Standard formula that is pretty reliable, for 405x3, puts you around 445'ish for a 1RM. Still 50+ pounds in a year is going to be some serious work, but you're doing all the right thing and you have momentum. Ice baths have been golden for my mental health, really game-changing. Looking forward to the video where you show yourself smashing these goals.

Waking up at 6am, going for a run and doing my deep work in the morning changed my life. I started actually composing music, finished writing my book, and planned videos, etc , last year and it wasn’t even consistent. I’m super excited for this year, doing this routine every single day.
Huberman be out there make people understand that even simple things like exposing yourself to the sunlight on determined time can have a huge impact, because, even the simple change in your daily routine can have a dominoes effect on your whole life. Let's keep pushing ourselves, let's keep the trial and error going and let's not give up. I believe that if everybody does his part, this world will really change for the better. Lots of love and never give up :).

I concur with the mind expansion of cold exposure. I take cold showers every morning now since this past year and a half and it’s completely changed my life. I love the educational aspect and the detail and depth you put into your videos. Andrew Huberman is a cool dude and seeing how his impact has reached so many with free education that benefits so many is so inspirational. Keep up the great work Nikhil, been a supporter of yours since the early days of life force retention before you even had 100K followers, so it’s awesome seeing you at well over 500K, I’m already imagining you with 1million, keep achieving those daily goals and you will have immense success! Been following some of these myself, including the 3 phases of the day without realizing I was doing it. Wake up at 6:30, drink my coffee between 8-9:30. Do my intellectual work first in the morning, then midday I take care of chores and exercise. Once the exercise ends, I begin winding down and just hanging out with my family. Still need to get on the cold showers... But my mental health has never been better!

About the Yerba Mate….Andrew drinks the traditional brew of this, NOT the sugary can version. Traditional Mate is brewed in a gourd (fancy cup) with and a straw that has a filter on the end of it. Essentially, it is a cup full of tea leaves that you pour hot water over, and you drink it while the leaves are still in your cup. The straw with the filter is to keep you from sucking up the tea leaves while drinking it. This traditional version is not sweet at all and actually pretty bitter if you’re not used to it. You should absolutely buy the tea, gourd, and straw and brew some yourself. It’s great when you get used to it!

Hello Sinbad, first time watching and already subscribed. Couple of points that might help you a bit more according to Huberman. 1 - Sunlight through car windows. There is a loss in efficacy 2- When in an ice bath instead of staying still, move (it will hurt a bit more haha) and the effects are also accentuated. 3- I would encourage you to try yerba mate on its natural form, that is perhaps why the effects were so dimmed in the can format.

You have to buy actual Yerba Mate Tea Leaves, order them online, e.g. Playadito brand is one of the best, you can get it on amazon, yellow packages. There is a traditonal way to prepare it, but I personally just take a 1 Liter jug, put the tea into an open tea bag (tie a knot, I have these prepared en masse), then put the tea bag in your jug and fill the jug with less than hot water (40-60 degrees Celsius) and let it sit for half a day. Afterwards; i take out the tea bag, and fill the mate tea in some glass bottles (using a funnel) and put them in my fridge, such that I have it prepared the next day. Super nice, the focus is way way clearer on yerba mate without any sort of crash or drowsiness, which coffee can produce sometimes. And NO SUGAR. Zero! Try it

All these things are crucial! Life hit me pretty hard. I'm actually coming up with a resource that helped me become the man I am today. I used to live in Miami being around street violence, guns, death, and I even used to eat $3 a day, 25 cents noodles, expired toast and canned campbell tomato soup. I survived the Boston Marathon Bombing which was a few feet away and I saw all the blood the people screaming and I was alone at 18. I also used to live in a room with no kitchen, trash bag as a window and bugs crawling on me at night. I also took boxing to protect myself and learned how to defend against bigger threats. Now I live in a cabin in the north of Sweden where I go down to a lake to breathe and heal my past and I post on KZitem to help others who need it the most 💜

Watching videos like this and learning the science behind these habits is super interesting because in Finland a lot of this stuff is just a normal part of our culture. Ice swimming and rolling in snow and sauna is very common and not considered an extreme thing. (Sauna is actually a Finnish word.) And because we have polar night during winter, sunlamps are common and recommended, vitamin D is added to a lot of foods and its important to make sure you get enough of it. I guess the only thing we really suck at is the caffeine delay, Finland is number 1 or 2 in coffee consumption in the world :D
