The chap who tries to explain the difference between high and low gear on a two speed reel at 12:35 has the explanation backwards. Low gear is the powerful gear with a slower retrieve and greater torque crank power.

thats a fish. To all those below who are talking about catch and release and the dwindling numbers of blue-fin. These guys and other sportfishers are NOT the problem. These guys pay a lot of money into the sport to help governments with conservation efforts. Sportfisherman take a tiny percentage of the fish taken. The problem is the ocean rapers known as commercial fisherman who are cleaning out the oceans and killing lots of by-catch so some shmuck in a fancy restaurant can eat fish like these.

There are so few bluefins left. This guy is small compared to how big they used to get historically. Every bluefin matters these days. These fish are Critically Endangered.

Only if you live on the oceans, all year ,for food, should you keep those fish, for fun, release them,it might be a female full of eggs,it's great meat tho, nothing but a thick tuna steak on the grill,I have sailed oceans for three years, and it was a feast on the boat when we caught Mahi's,but we only used hand lines,no way we could have boarded such a beast.....

dimi caimano sport and commercial fishing regulations are different, sport fishing limits depend on the area where the fish was caught, there's size and quantity limits, so yeah

+Maine NOVI our bluefin stocks have exploded to the point where they are here all year, in areas they haven’t been for 40 plus years and bigger than ever before. Those of us who actually interact with the environment know that the stocks are in good shape and the 2-3 fish we take a year has little to no impact.

Where to begin? Get a deck hand that knows how to leader? After a 30 minute fight and I'm sure the meat was cooked. What a waste.
