As someone who works in construction from time to time, my favorite thing about these headphones is that they work (actually, better) when you put earplugs in. So, I can protect my ears from loud, repetitive tool noise while still listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks. I highly recommend trying these headphones again, and this time stick your fingers in your ears. It's a little weird to be able to still hear like that!

I have had the Aftershox Aeropex model for about 5-6 years and before that I had an older model that I accidentally left on an airplane. I love them. They are great for running, as they hold up well against sweat and are safer because they do not block outside sounds. I want to be able to hear my surroundings. Also, for some races, they ban any headphones that block your ability to hear your surroundings. As you said, the music quality is limited, but they are not trying to compete with headphone build for audiophiles.

I started with the Aftershokz Aeropex (their previous brandname) I recently upgraded to the Shokz Opencomm2 as when cycling I talk to family on the phone and the mic on the Aeropex was not good with wind, the Opencomm works well to reduce wind noise. The audio isn't great but it's good enough for me for having something to listen to and keeping my ears open to hear the world around me.

I had the older version, and one of the nice things about having a mini usb was the ease of charging, the current lower end version still uses usb C and the little cover is even more difficult to remove.. I can see me anyway with a magnetic cord not having the charging cable around when I need it , forgetting it on a trip , losing it in a library etc...and I can't just pop to any store and grab a replacement USB cable or fish out an extra one from some other device.

As I bought 3/4 Shokz Titanium, I love these headphones. Just a cons, and two curiosity: - Unfortunately, they are really delicate and it's easy to break them if you put them in a bag with some weight on and no case (that's why I bought so many of them). Exert caution and treat them well, they will reward you. - The first week or two that you use them for the first time, they can cause inflammation and a bit of itching with intensive use. With time it will stop and also if you don't use them for a year. - If you don't hear well, putting a finger in one of your ears will boost the sound. I know, it's strange but I used this method a lot of times when the call was not of great quality.

Then I saw someone with bone conducting earphones and based on what she said about them, I bought a pair. Not the ones being reviewed here, but for Zoom meetings they were perfect. No one could see them or could tell as the sound of my voice didn't change to any significance. I would recommend these for the purpose I got them for and audiobooks. Think also by pairing them with a Bluetooth lapel mic, they would be a cheaper alternative to the rathrer expensive bone conducting hearing aids.

Nice! Using Shinedown’s debut album for a test! You do have great taste in music! As far as the review of the product, great job. I haven’t tried these but having used various headphones in and out of the studio, I know that unless it’s directly in the ear, the mid range is the primary frequency. I’m guessing they were hoping the bass would reverberate through the cartilage on the outer ear? But that’s still a green science that has a long way to go.

I watched this on my shokz, great review, I would say, as someone who is not an audiophile I find the music quality to be pretty amazing, people shouldn't expect these to be cappy headphones for safety, they do sound great. They're amazing for construction cause a lot of times you can't play music on jobsite through speakers or wear two in ear headphones but no one has ever questioned these. People should be aware though if your music is loud and someone starts talking to you, you will need to pause your music and ask them to start over, it's kinda like being in a room with loud music playing. The opposite is true too, if you're in a loud environment you'll need to turn these puppies up, it doesn't just beam the sound right into your brain. I also find they work better in bed if you lay on your back, you just need to adjust them slightly, but when you're on your side pressing them into your temple distorts the sound and makes them way louder, and I worry it'll resonate through the pillow so that they're more audible to my wife, though she says she's never heard them.

I’ve had these headphones for about two three years now I have the original version which were called aeropex before the product and company name change it did take some getting used to. For example like he said in the video the multifunction button that you use to play pause skip and reverse did take me some time to find. However once I got used to them by pretty much wearing them every day it’s second nature for me to go right to the button first try. Because they aren’t sitting in your ears there is a significant downgrade in sound quality however when I’m walking my neighborhood this helps keep me safe and hear cars around me. I highly recommend this product if you are highly active or just always on the move one of the best purchases I have ever made.

I've been buying Aftershokz products since 2014. I don't like earbuds in my ears. I wear these literally all times I'm out of the house. The sound quality for music is obviously not comparable to good over-the-ear headphones or earbuds but I wear normal headphones at my desk which is really the only time I would care to begin with. Being able to listen to music/podcasts literally anywhere in an unobtrusive way is amazing to the point where if I did have a job which disallowed me to wear them for whatever reason I would get one of the glasses frames with prescription lenses which have the transducers built in, even though I'm sure the sound would be worse than the Shokz products. Having the option to close out sound with earplugs for when I'm working with power tools and such is also great. The Aeropex had a recurring failure where the transducers inside would dislodge after a 1-1.5 years. However the warranty experience has always been great and they always sent me new retail packaging with a new warranty. The second time they didn't even require me to send the damaged pair back. I currently have the openrun pros and they're working great.

my personal rec for headphones that are open, is to just get koss ksc75's. you need to adjust the ear clip, but they sound much better than these could ever do, and you're still open to the world. if you don't want an ear clip, you can steal the headband out of the parts express headphones and clip them in, you can even switch back and forth if you can't choose. they are wired headphones, but it's only $20-30 (depending on the headband mod) they're headphones you could legitimately use as your main headphones and have a good experience. sound many times better than their price

I'm watching this video wearing those headphones. Ha! I personally love them because I have issues with pressure in my ears. This makes it really uncomfortable to wear most types of headphones. These headphones have two quirks to consider if you are thinking about getting some. First is how they do nothing to lessen ambient noise. This can make them difficult to hear in loud environments. Secondly, you can feel low frequencies and they can vibrate pretty intensily at times. Other than those two issues, I like everything about them. They have great connectivity, battery life and sound quality. Plus they are quite hard to damage and are very comfortable to wear. I can literally wear these all day and it never bothers me. I should mention that I have the OpenRun Pro, so my sound quality may be better than his. I think mine sound great. BTW, they use a proprietary cable for water resistance.
