Quite incredible. A true talent. His incredible guitar playing was overshadowed by his amazing voice which was overshadowed by his awesome songwriting and mastery of melody. His songs all have an extra sense of meaning since he died way before he should have.

I remember this guy use to be on all the TV shows, Sonny and Cher show, Helen Reddy show, Mike Douglas, you name it. That would never ever happen today. The music industry is gone today, if Jim started his career today you would never know he even existed unless you came across him by some chance on Facebook or something like that

Even has the same clever D minor for one section and D major for the other. They both have what I call "Blackbird-isms" mixed in too the way he walks up and down to different chords. "Time in a Bottle is in 3/4 though.
@llla_german_ewoklll6413

Time in a bottle is in the same key, and they both walk down and pull a blackbird up the neck. They also change keys about the same time over to a d major. This one’s finger selection is just a bit more difficult than time in a bottle. Overall, I like this a bit more than time in a bottle because it lasts longer and has some beautiful key changes.
@protoman91300

It’s all related to bach’s ways of harmonizing basslines and modulations from minor to major, he must have listened a lot of bach’s music, the same as blackbird which is totally inspired from bach’s music
