I believe the concept behind Willy’s Wonderland is that it is supposed to be like a video game where Nick Cage is the classic silent protagonist. Even the opening credits are done with a 8-bit looking font. This is also why he fights one enemy at a time. The kids and adults are just the NPCs there to give exposition and move the story forward.

I don't know if you've already seen the VHS series on KZitem, but look up Squimpus McGrimpus's FNAF series. Despite what the channel's name might lead you to believe it's actually fairly good, and is almost entirely centered on the animatronics.

Willy's Wonderland is genuinely one of my favorite movies. It's a parody of horror in all the right ways, my favorite being that the main character is just a guy that beats the absolute ass off a gang of supernatural creatures. Similar vibe to Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer.

Actually Scott (creator of FNAF) and Blumhouse are working with actual animatronic engineers to make the FNAF robots as true to life as is reasonable, so I’m hopeful the movie will feel more grounded than these. The Banana Splits were actually an old Cartoon Network/Boomerang show from like the 70s, so that’s the equivalent of the Whinnie the Pooh horror movie 🤣 Willy’s Wonderland is a so bad it’s good movie for me, absolutely love that one.

Me too. I feel that they are going to just fail with the fnaf movie, just like what happened with Star Wars and Barbie. What I want is a sequel to Willy, but with a bigger budget, an army of animatronics, and Nick Cage with a chainsaw or a samurai sword. Also, it has to be by the original writers, producers, and directors.

I feel like all these movies messed up the actually scary monster, a "William" stand in. The villain of FNAF is William Afton, a serial child murder who uses the animatronics to kill people. These rip-offs were like trying to make a horror movie about Freddy Kruger's knives, or Jason's manchette, none of them focused on an actual villain behind it all. And there's just something genuinely disturbing about a slasher targeting kids, in what would be safe environment- "A PLACE WHERE FANTASY AND FUN COME TO LIFE". I really hope the fnaf movie does well, but I know better than to go in with high hopes

Seems like it would be easy to translate game to real life because the game has minimal movement from the puppets but the sound effects make you think they are moving then when you look at them they moved from where they were but aren’t moving I think that’s where they got it wrong in the other ones and when you do hear the sound effects it’s a frantic race to find where they are on the cameras if and that’s another thing I didn’t see in the other movies the security gaurd role looking through the cameras and stuff

The Banana Splits movie is so strange is because they were characters from a 60’s/ 70’s live action Hanna-Barbera show. It was trying to capitalize on FNAF with a brand Universal had the rights to. Universal was originally going to do the FNAF movie, but they lost the rights. If that was the quality of movie they were going to make I can see why. It was funny how the movie was oddly faithful to the Banana Splits sometimes.
