@Frencho9
4 жыл бұрын
Audio Technica ATH-ADG1x is basically a 900x with a supercardiod condenser mic attached marketed at gamers. Discontinued since 2020 though. I own these, got em for 200 USD to replace my old ATH AD-700. Honestly under 400 USD they are the best headphones for FPS/Competitive gaming IMHO. At only 48 ohm, I power these with my Sennheiser GSX 1000 at 30 % volume. The imaging is incredible and the soundstage is perfect for competitive gaming, not too wide (Fidelios) and not stupidly small (HD600/6xx series). It's a tight soundstage, that presents sound super accurately up to 200-220 degree arc (huge 53mm driver baby) so perfect for gaming. I hate it when people recommend the bass heavy Fidelios X2R for gaming when the cues sound like they come from another continent (if you can pick em up and not drowned in all that bass) or when people shill the Sennheiser 600/6xx series as godlike for gaming when they present everything in front of you and CLOSE to you (yes the imaging is excellent, but determining the actual in-game distance between you and the audio cues is nigh impossible cuz the soundstage is MINUSCULE and intimate, a cue might be a block away but sounds like 10 meters away from you), plus need a powerful amp to power, cuz 150 to 300 ohms... So I got the Audio Technica ATH-ADG1x for as my open back headset for FPS, competitive gaming and discord in 2019 and am considering the Beyer MMX 300 Gen II as my closed back for single player fun gaming and music listening. Although these Beyer Tygr might be the best all-rounder open back casual gaming headphones now.

So I have them both and the 990's are defnietely higher while presenting a little more details. It's (slightly) easier to pick out single instruments or melodies. And I feel like they're a little punchier in the bass. The Tygr has a little bit better locability which makes them better for gaming. And really you could listen to the Tygr forever, it's a super relaxed listen. Also the Tygr , isolates even less then the 990 pro.

How can u get those headphones if the website doesn`t have your country?

I would have bought the 300 R instantly if it wasn't bundled with their microphone. Not paying €370 for a pair of €140 headphones and a €150 microphone that as far as I can tell really isn't good at all or any better than my Mod mic. What would you say DMS? Is the 300 R worth €370?
@DMS3TV

You don’t have to get the bundle. As stated in the video (and also linked in the description) it’s much cheaper if you get just the headphone without the mic.
@InvadersDie

@@DMS3TV This is true if you live in Germany Austria Netherlands France UK Belgium Luxembourg Spain or USA, otherwise it's bundle only. So for most it's bundle only I'm afraid. Soundguys also had the bundle only option and so they couldn't recommend it for people who didn't need a microphone. It does seem like a really promising pair of headphones though.

Also not the question wasn't a gotcha or anything, I basically just wondered if you know of any better imagers for the same price as the bundle.
@ron2291

Is it worth getting if you already have a 1990 for gaming? You say the imaging is so good so is it that much better than the 1990?

1990 is "superior" as it is more resolving. That's what I've heard. Don't spend your money for no reason

The nice thing about the TYGR 300 is that you don’t need to eq it at all. I feel like the dt1990 needs eq at 8k to 10k range. But that’s personal preference.

Being the first video I saw aside from the Linus Tech Tips colab video, I'd say you're definitely doing a nice job and have a good attention to detail with what you're saying and how you're presenting it. Good job, man.👍

Aww man, if the cable isn't detachable, at least make it 10 ft long. These short cables man, what were they thinking?
@Tripokaridos22

Short cable can be bigger with extention cable so... What is more logical ?
@CockatooDude
4 жыл бұрын
@@Tripokaridos22 Yeah but then you have to spend money buying an extra extension cable, with the long one you don't have to. If you want to shorten the long one you just fold a section of it up and either tie it or tape it, and that's much cheaper to do.

Thanks for the thorough review of this Beyerdynamics headphone (I can't stand unboxing vidéo anymore), I had the DT880 and the DT990 on hand lately and everything ou said about them is what I experienced now I have ordered a Tygr 300 can't wait to try !

super tempted to pull trigger on purchase after watching your review. But! that non-removable cable - that's a deal breaker. I had too many headphones with permanently attached cable thrown into recycle bin because the wire or the plug got messed up. this is 2020. no headphone manufacturer - especially the likes of BeyerDynamic - should produce any headphone with permanently attached cable.
@InvadersDie

I agree completely. However throwing away good heaphones when the cable breaks is a waste. It's not that hard to replace it (and there is no real risk when the cable is broken) and you can also DIY a cable plug. I just wish it wasn't needed.

If you can work a soldering iron you can repair a set of Beyerdynamics. IMO I would never throw a set of Beyers in the garbage. They've gone to really long lengths to try to make their headphones user serviceable and you can even buy replacement parts from them directly and do it yourself.

dt 880, I liked everything about these but the sibilance was far to much for me, i actually couldn't even watch certain youtube channels while wearing these things. The only beyers i have been able to actually listen to for more than an hour or more so far are the 770. If you don't find the 880 600ohm sibilant you're ears are already fucked.

Could not agree more, Tried the DT1990, they did everything better than my DT770 but the treble. Harsh , metallic ,compressed and penetrating treble, so bad, its as far from smooth as you can get. so sad for the rest was so good, really good So I still have and use the DT770 80ohm Have ordered the 300R, Very skeptical but we'll see
