It's time to head back into the mountains again and as any backpacker knows, getting to the start of the trek is the first adventure. After a rooftop breakfast overlooking Hunza Valley with my new friend Asif, I set off from Karimabad in search of any mode of transportation heading to the remote Hopar Valley. I was originally looking for direct transport to Hopar as I knew it might be difficult to hitch there, but that idea was quickly shot down by the locals of Ganish village. Luckily for me, a couple of friendly guys around my age took it upon themselves to help me find a ride toward Hopar. The vibes from Ganish to Nagar Khas changed drastically, and I could really feel that I was in a place seldom visited by foreigners. After making it to Nagar Khas, the single track leading to Hopar made it very easy to hitch the rest of the way. Once I set eyes on all that I had planned to accomplish that day during my trek to Rush Lake, I was immediately overwhelmed. Stay tuned for my upcoming vlogs for my grueling journey to Rush Lake as well as the second highest mountain I have climbed in my life. Pakistan Zindabad! 🇵🇰
