I can’t be the only one that thinks the first one looked really good. I think if you give an incredible artist a piece of 💩and tell them to create art… they will still create amazing art. It’s the talent.

The second picture was so good. You blended that green in there around the mouth very well 👀. I think there's a place for less opaque/ translucent mediums you just have to figure out how best to use them so this was such a good review for that. I actually find your reviews really helpful I just wish some of these pastels were available where I'm from! 🍬

You're correct. This version of Cray Pas is a beginner's youth version. Cray Pas Expressionist oil pastels are like night and day to these. These have beautiful colors, but they are difficult to work with, once you've worked with better. But to be fair, he's doing a review - an honest review.😊

"these oil pastels will not layer" that's basically my experience with mungyo's blue box "artist's" oil pastels too. And I bought them because I thought they would be opaque. Lol. But those can also make really smooth colors and gradients when you stack them on the paper. With these types of translucent, ghost ass oil pastels you have to work with light to dark instead of dark to light most of the time

@@silverkip2992 I painted a dog today. It came out surprisingly good! I kept the few colors I used in my hands and suddenly I could blend the colors quite a lot. Maybe they just needed a bit of warmth and the right paper with structure. But yes, could not really add much light on dark…

Omg!!! I bought this set of pastels a couple of months ago bc i couldn’t find crayola and I’ve been using them. I had reallyyyy similar issues with blending and layering. I thought it was just me. This clears a lot of things up. Also!!! For spooky season, I’d love to see more 3D type art like your photoshoot, coralline doll, and Halloween decoration videos you put out last year. I discovered your channel around that time and I adore those videos!! Some suggestions for Halloween characters to draw: Sally from Nightmare, Dracula since you did Frankenstein, and the witches from Hocus Pocus ☺️

Du Québec in Canada 🇨🇦! I am following you since the two years! hm, I actually like both of these and I think the Craypas could be interesting for a different style/technique than the heavy layering. I might still pick up a small pack of them and see what I can do with them. I adore your style, as I repeatedly say, your work got me interested in oil pastels after years and years, but in most mediums, I tend to do thin layers so these and that cross-hatching style might suit me more.
