I enjoyed watching your video, buy I am not sure you succeeded in establishing what is a good design pattern versus what is a bad pattern other than a good pattern being something you like even if it is not something you’d wear. This is unfortunate as you cannot go shopping with each of us. I agree dull pastels are aging, but I also think women have to be very careful when they wear bold patterns that the pattern is not wearing them. If one sees a women in a bold outfit and the observer’s first thought is what a great outfit, then the outfit is wearing the model and not the image the model should want to convey. The model should want the observer’s first though to be what a great looking (not necessarily beautiful) woman. I also think large prints should be worn by large or overweight women. Smaller women need to wear smaller prints as they tend to be overwhelmed by larger prints. I’ve also heard a lot of fashion influencers say the larger prints are no longer in style, although I still think a larger woman needs a larger print look in proportion.

Finally, thank you 3×, from what I've seen there are florals and prints that really rock even for us in the 50s who love bold colors. Animal prints can be aging, but you made the difference clear. Your teaching technique is perfect. ❤from Europe, Slovenia.

Prints are definitely tricky. Stripes and dots are fairly easy if the colors are up to date and not busy. I'm not fond of animal prints so that's not a problem but florals are extremely difficult. I have several that I guess I need to remove from my closet. I really appreciate your advice on styling older women. We want to look modern and not foolish by dressing too young or frumpy

Nada, I like the tips you share, but I leave the sound off when I play your videos. Your constant repetition and unfinished sentences are annoying. Another comment mentioned the length of your videos. That doesn't really both me, but you could make them shorter by perhaps sticking a little more closely to a script and eliminating the repetition. Today I discovered that I just can't watch you either because of the hands. Sorry, but I'm going to unsubscribe.

I agree mostly with your opinions, but not all. The t-shirt with the bold animal picture and the western patterned shirt are definitely ageing - they've been overdone, at least in the UK, in designs for 50+ ladies, for too long. The ruched pink geometric dress was horrendous, for any age. I heard the 1980s called and asked for their worst fashion designs back! I definitely get what you were saying about sweet designs and sweet patterns, but the polka dot blouse was lovely - the cut was so good that, sweet or not, it definitely carried the pattern well. The red "bandana" blouse (I don't know why they call that bandana, either) had a fantastic strong red colour and a flattering style. No, it's not current "fashion", but it would look lovely on any woman. I think that the cut of a piece of clothing has to be taken into account, along with its fabric's colour and pattern.

This is really helpful; once I started watching I realized I was there for the live premiere, but I don't think I was able to see the whole thing as I don't remember the end. I've got most of it down, but floral still confuse me a bit. I will study more! I think part of my problem is that I like the sweet florals in the pastel colors. I love to wear pastels more than bright colors, going to work on getting out of my comfort zone. (Secretly thinking about the pink dress that arrived a couple days ago, the light blue coming today & the white with pastel flowers on Friday...)

I think what made the dress (the 2nd ex you showed) not work was the sleeves. If the sleeves had been full length with a cuff out of sheer fabric, it would have worked better. Making them shorter, flutter sleeves could also have worked. Sleeves that end at the elbow are very matronly imo.

I find if I wear a print, it would be on the bottom. I am top heavy with not much bum or hip to speak of. I need to proportion myself. I believe a print on top would look unflattering 77% of the time on my body type. Also, I love many of the blouses you show but I have spare tire. Small but not firm and feel like these flowy, silky tops really emphasize this spot. Same with back fat. That material just seems to emphasize. If this isn't true, I would love to see pics of woman who are more average sized with flabby spots and how to hide or at least not emphasize those areas. Thanks.

Sorry if that was confusing, but I am just referring to the prince and not the style in that case. Capris that are fitted should be retired. Cropped pants that are wider leg still look modern and are much more flattering. Look at the French terry full leg crops from J Jill to see an example of a good one.

Sorry I’m just seeing this! Cami is on its way out of style but in some parts of the country like Florida it never goes out of style so that to me as a personal style question.
