I have maintained an opinion from the first time I ever heard Voctave, that my favorite members are Kurt and Kate. But it is difficult to ever assign any order in which I like Voctave. I love each and every one of yall, and I'm simply amazed every time I hear you. But I do think that this performance is my favorite of yours Kurt! God has blessed you with a talent and I thank you for sharing it!!

Kate Lott is the high soprano who is basically a mythological Siren. Jamie Ray likes to give her a few glass-shattering notes in every arrangement. She sang the Snow White part in the Disney Princess Medley.

EJ’s note was actually 28 seconds 😊 and his breath came from the beginning of the phrase, not from right before the last note which makes it all the more incredible

Fun fact you may not know DJ, Voctave doesn’t have a lot of free time. They consider themselves (when they’re together as a group rather than their individual music careers) as a part-time group. Literally, in past interviews, they’ve mentioned that they hardly have time together to rehearse songs more then once or twice (unless they’re on tour of course). They’re all just that good! So they don’t upload as often as the other a cappella groups. But when they do!? Bruh, they don’t disappoint. In fact, I would argue that waiting longer helps keep things fresh!p and that element of surprise.

The high soprano is Kate Lott. In this video she is back row 2nd from your left. Kurt is also one of my favorites. Jamie Rey does all arrangements for Voctave. He also founded the group. Try Prince of Egypt Medley. It is one of my favorites. Sorry, no video but the audio is incredible. Also watch Mary Did You Know, with the man who wrote the song, Mark Lowry.

Kurt is an amazing Scar but equally good Kermit. Yeah, you heard that right. He loves doing that voice at random and for a 90´s Cartoon Medley Kurt did just that. And EJ an even more surprising Muppett, I won´t spoil what. ^^

I've enjoyed your Voctave reactions greatly! Voctave will blow your mind with EVERY ONE of their videos. "Prince of Egypt" is stunning and anything they do from the Disney universe is phenomenal. And for the Christmas holidays they absolutely rule that musical genre.

EJ's closing was a 25 second, single-breath phrase. There were two leading notes using about 4 seconds of breath but no new intake when he hit the final note.

Great reaction to a great group. Just a point of clarification, you need to go back and listen to EJ. Everyone is amazed at how long he holds "that note". Actually, he sings the phrase "I'll have spent one day out..." on the same breath as "there". Even more impressive!

Equally formidable for different reasons! The Come All Ye Faithful was 25 sec in one breath with after 13 sec a higher tone. The restraint instead off belting from get go is the amazing part. This Out There one 18 seconds full belting, but with previous line 26 seconds in total in constant full power. Nevertheless I think only Dimash has done such feats so far.

Loved this reaction! Keep going down the rabbit hole of Voctave! My 12 yo son loves watching Voctave reactions with me and he thought your reaction was hilarious because you were just so supportive and surprised by what you heard. Two years ago we went to a concert of theirs in person and it was fun and they sound almost better in person! Please please please keep some time to do some of their Christmas songs! So many good ones! O Come All ye Faithful, Mary did you know (with Mark Lowry the writer of the lyrics), The Christmas Song (you thought EJ held a note long...come check out Drew in this one), Let there Be Peace/This is my wish Also they have done some with some wonderful guests such as Someone Like You feat Jody McBrayer, Beaty and the Beast feat Sandy Patti also as others have said....my favorite is The Prince of Egypt medley. There is no music video but as much as i would love to see them characterize it its perfect just with listening!

I realize that this comes a little late (like about 5 months), but you really need to go back and listen to EJ again. Not only did he hold "that note" for 20 seconds, but he sang the previous phrase "I'll have spent one day out" on the same breath. So he actually went more like 29 seconds without a breath. How impressive is that?1?

@DJ As far as I know, the only two members of Voctave who actually played the roles they sang in this medley are Aaron Stratton who played Gaston in "Beauty and The Beast: Live on Stage" and EJ Cardona who was the singing voice for Quasimodo in a tour of the Stage Musical where the Primary Actor was Mute. Also, I believe the word you were looking for to describe EJ is "flexing." He was hardcore "flexing" in this medley. 😁
