It might be worth getting one of those tube presses if you think you're gonna need to squeeze out any more tubes in the future, it should save you some time and energy. Great vid btw!

That's a great idea! If I end up filling palettes, that could be a good investment

You need to push the tabs towards the middle of the palette slip the pan under the tab and the lip and pop them in. They will click in and hold them in tight

I appreciate the help! I noticed the tabs and wondered about them

@@WalkerFrankeArt hope I explained that well put the front of the pan in the front lip and then push to click them under the tab in the back. You’re welcome. Mine were wobbly forever till I saw someone else on KZitem pop them in and I felt really silly. Lol

The reason they give you 14 pans is because you can fit 7 pans per row then they don't slide around.
@WalkerFrankeArt

Yeah I put 7 in each row, and that works. It's a bit too tight, though, it would be difficult to get a pan out.

@@WalkerFrankeArtYou can take out the entire platform all the pans are sitting in out of the box and have easy access to all of the half pans. 😊 I love your vids! ✅️ Subscribed

I just received a big order from Blick's. What a shame I hadn't noticed the swatch book beforehand. Oh well... next time!! Although I technically already have a very good swatching system... hrm. The slotted side of the pan holders are bendable to keep your pans in place where you want them.
@WalkerFrankeArt

Haha what stuff did you order? I almost made a personal swatching system as well, and maybe I still will, but I'm not sure what things I'd want to include! Thanks for the info about the palette! I had wondered about those tabs and that makes total sense!

@@WalkerFrankeArt I had ordered the Beya Rebai Warm and Cool sets from Caran d'ache and to justify the shipping, I added on the Gansai Tambi Art Nouveau set, plus a couple of Derwent pan sets (charcoal and graphitint), and while I was at it, why not try the new Qor urban sketching set, plush a few other bits and bobs like the new purples from Prismacolour, some ink, some opaque watercolour, glue, some Daniel Smith tubes, and goodness I know there were a couple of other items but I'm hard-pressed to remember. All very fun fun fun!!

I was looking at that painters diary thinking I could rig that up, and after studying iT for detail at Amazon I popped into Jerry's to see iF they had some detail on the actual paper and they had the thing on sale for $6.80. WooHoo, I ordered 3.

Have fun with your new paints! I love Indanthrone Blue, it has become invaluable to me. Such a versatile warm blue, and I love it's value range! It makes a beautiful transparent black when mixed with your new orange. Transparent Pyrrol Orange is also great for glazing, like when you need to capture that warm glow of golden hour glinting across the scene. Do you prefer transparent or granulating colors?
@WalkerFrankeArt

I'm so excited! I don't have a strong preference either way, I use a variety of transparent, granulating, and staining colors. I used to be very against granulating paints, but now most of my palette is made up of granulating ones!

What a fun haul! I am really interested in that painter's color diary- it seems like the perfect way to keep all my swatches in one place without having to DIY something. I love Trans. Pyrrol Orange- such a lovely warm shade!! I also love filling in a new, empty palette. Such an enjoyable process to me. I hope you enjoy your new supplies, and congrats on your channel growth!
