Your hair looks so good short! Embrace every stage until it grows ❤️ Defo moisturise your hair more than once a week! lol. When you put in your deep conditioner, use a heat cap to open up your cuticles and let the deep conditioner seep in. Check your products to ensure none of them have the ‘bad’ alcohols, parabens, sulphates , mineral oil etc. which can be drying. Also check your shampoo is moisturising/hydrating. Looking forward to seeing you with a TWA soon! 😍 xx

P.S you can use a deep conditioner before you get in the shower. That’s what I do now as it means I don’t have to get out the shower and then wash my hair out again! X

Thanks for these tips and thank you!!! Yeah, I need to start embracing every stage. Lol- I've started trying to do it every two days and spraying water on it beforehand also- that seems to be helping. Oh yes- I haven't used my heat cap since getting the hair transplant. I may go back to using it- thanks for the reminder. I think the shampoo they give us from the clinic may be drying out my hair- someone else mentioned that it was contributing to their flaky scalp and I'm now wondering whether that's part of why my hair felt so dry. I'll double-check the leave-in conditioning cream I use but I don't think it does. The shampoo probably contains those bad stuff 😁 I was going to stop using it once the bottle runs out (because at the clinic they told us we could by the products there that would last like 6 months of whatever), but maybe I should stop using it now- are you still using your shampoo? I don't want to shampoo off the nutrients from the deep conditioner and that would be the case if I deep conditioned before getting in the shower and shampooing- how do you get around that? xxxx

Oh yes it could be their shampoo! I only use their shampoo on the transplanted area and not my ‘OG hair’ (lol) for that exact reason, that it would make my hair dry. I use Shea Moisture hydrating shampoo and conditioner and alternate that with Shea Moisture protein shampoo and conditioner. I don’t think the shampoo would wash the deep conditioner out if you use a heat cap, only a clarifying shampoo would ‘strip’ the hair in that way. But I could be wrong! I just do it this way to make my life easier and save time lol. Check the ingredients for Cantu as well because I heard from the ‘natural hair community’ that it dries out the hair. See what works for your hair though. It’s literally trial and error from here on out sis! X x

I checked the shampoo and it doesn't contain any of the usual nasty ingredients, so I'm not sure of it is that. Sigh. Are you worried that the conditioner won't be able to penetrate the hair draft properly of your hair isn't clean before hand? I don't know- that's why I like to condition on freshly washed hair as it can absorb more conditioner that way (in theory at least as the conditioner molecules are larger right, and so may be obstructed from penetrating the hair shaft if there is old product on it already). I may try it and see how my hair feels though. Yes, it would definitely save time!!! I'll doubtl check cantus ingredients- thanks, as I bought It ages ago.

YESSSS Braids made my edges really thin and sparse. If I ever fancy braids I may try a braided wig instead. Thanks for the update!

🙁 I used to have a braided wig- it wasn't HD lace though and it was a bit big so it looked quite bulky and made my head look big- memories 🙂

thanks for the suggestion xxx I've been trying to avoid wearing scarves (and bonnets) to bed to avoid that tension along my hairline. I'll re-look into it though- I'm currently wearing a satin bonnet on my head but not pulled over my hairline and the oil still seeps through lol

Male pattern baldness doesn't actually run in my family. I used to to waves when I was from about 15 - 21 and all the chemical products, hair brushing and overtexturizing ruined my hairline. from now on, natural hair products will be the only way
@TheWellnessAbbey

Waves ruin hairlines? Wow- I didn't know that, but it makes sense! It's a lot of repeated manipulation to the same spot (the hairline), so overtime it makes sense!! Same- I'm trying to focus on natural products / additions to be hair regimen also, especially as it grows out.

What your wig is glued down Do it cause your edges to thin as well?
@TheWellnessAbbey

No wig glued down didn't cause any thinning for me I don't think as I glued them down before my hairline if that makes sense- not on my hairline.

Thanks for this lovely video. Which moisturiser are you using, and also which conditioner do you plan to use? My growth is coming but not as full as yours.

You're welcome!! I use the cantu leave in conditioning creme as my moisturiser. For deep conditioning I use the creme of nature intensive conditioning treatment (the argan oil line one). I've started moisturising every two days now and spraying water on my hair before applying it- that has helped my hair not feel as dry. I thought my hair grows slowly but maybe I was wrong. If that's the case, length retention is where I'll need to focus my efforts as it grows longer! 🙈

@IntentionalAdulting Thank you. Your hair looks very good. But I noticed you have quite thick hair normally anyways, so you will get the same with the new hair. Mine started off not so thick but I'm hoping the stem cell therapy they did will also enhance my growth. Did you have the stem cells injection? The one that cost almost another 1.5k which they give ON TOP of PRP?
@TheWellnessAbbey
Жыл бұрын
Thank you xx I never really thought of my hair as thick before all of your comments after my transplant, so it's interesting to hear other people's perspectives (e.g. when I relax my hair it doesn't look particularly thick). Oh wow- is that the PRP you're referring to???? All I had was the PRP injections on the transplant day- nothing afterward and I won't be getting any after either because I really don't want to be spending all this money on my hair. So stem cell injections are different to PRP?

I usually just fold the cotton part of the satin bonnet so it’s not touching my hair 😊

Interesting. I'm planning to just use a satin scarf to tie around my head in future to fully eliminate any kind of elastic sitting on my hairline. If that doesn't work for whatever reason, I'll consider the bonnets the way you've said and pull it real low over my forehead lol- thank you x
