One problem I had, that Kelly addressed, was what I call food freedom. I no longer needed to eat. I felt free when the cravings went away. That led to fasting too much, which led to hair loss. Please, if you are just starting out, eat! Don't fall into the same trap as I did. Eating 3 meals a day is great advice. ps, my hair came back in about 4 month, darker and healthier.

Well if you must do diet pop and diet gum...then for sure stay away from the neuro-toxic aspartame stuff. I buy Pur natural xylitol gum (Amazon & Ebay!), and I used to buy Zevia (stevia) pop. Both taste great! Now I drink LMNT (stevia) electrolytes drinks when I'm at the gym, and cans of (naturally flavored) soda water when I'm at home. (my favorite flavor is Polar Ginger Lime Mule, and I also really like Polar Red Ruby Grapefruit...I bought loads of 12-packs for suuuper cheap!). Having stevia and xylitol hasn't made me crave sugar...though in the distant past I used to be a sugar/sweet addict, these days I just jones for salty snacks and wine!

I so needed this video today. I've been doing pretty well on carnivore and have lost 50 lbs (have about 80 more to go, though). However, I still struggle a TON with eating/craving sugar and also binging. Yesterday was the worst day in probably over a year and this morning I'm feeling powerless, useless, and my stomach hurts. Starting to get aches/pains again as well that go away completely with carnivore. But, I'm going to implement the advice in this video and try again. I won't stop trying, either. My goal is to make these changes permanently in my life to live a healthy life.

A recommendation to make getting movement in super easy - just walk around your house. It would be ideal to do some stuff outside, however it can be a lot of friction to go outside for a walk - you have to get presentable, you might run into *people* 😱, it might be the middle of a Texas summer, you might live in a busy city... plus for some, this isn’t even an option. Just walk around your house. Pace back and forth if you’re confined to a small room. This absolutely does the trick. Worst case, just walk / jog in place. Do some freestyle stretching / mobility stuff, deep squats, twists, neck circles, shoulder raises etc etc. And even if you’re looking for a vigorous workout - thousands of prison inmates confirm all you need is an 8 x 10 cell to get completely jacked.

I'm just sticking with it. I think the culprit was a great meaty smorgasboard, but there were these little tiny hot peppers pickled in a sweet brine. I ate a good handful. I gained 4 pounds! I am sure it was from insulin spikes and learned my lesson and I am back to sausage, eggs, chicken, butter and steak. I have no carbs in my house. Nothing but meat and greens and dairy. I just had an A1C test and it was normal. I love my filet mignons.

I should say that I live in Colchester, England - so about 8 am MY time, which is about 5 or 6 hours ahead of you - and while I was watching, my husband got up and came into the room. He started Carnivore back on July 6th of this year and has been doing pretty well over all, but his greatest struggle has been his sugar addiction - number 1 reason he developped T2 diabetes. He watched your video and commented to me, that he "really liked what that Kelly woman had to say" - which is HUGE, because he almost never says that about any of the Carnivore videos I watch. He has been happy for me to lead by example and tell him what's okay to eat and what isn't, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it, but but even more - how much it really helped him!

Very good advice. I'm doing most of your suggestions. I have one hold out that, at this point, isn't affecting me. It's diet soda. I have absolutely no cravings for sugar or carbs. I'm sure there will be a point where the Lord will put it on my heart to give it up. But not today, yet. LOL. I was over 360 lbs. I lost around 170lbs. But gained back 120. I made many compromises and had multiple stressors that led me back to that weight gain. I have learned a hard lesson. But I can be hard headed. I appreciate your encouragement. I made an update video last year on my channel about my health. I'm about to do an update. I'm unofficially down 60 lbs. I need a hip replacement and have to lose the weight. I have committed to the carnivore way of life, for the rest of my life. Who knows, perhaps by the grace of God, eating a carnivore diet will rebuild the cartilage in my hip, and I won't need that surgery. Have a blessed day and New Year.

No matter what, you have hunger pangs, unless you are dead. Im not yet, so I eat two meals a day, but admit it is hard to get over hunger pangs. I have been IF for 2 years. I did it for health reasons, and a little loss of weight. If I feel too much of a weight loss, I add a few more cals. I don't want to be overweight which causes many health problems, but don't want to be a frail old lady.

My tdee suggests 2400 calories, when I do 2400 I still get cravings. I now eat 3000-3100 calories and no more carb cravings. Not loosing weight fast but I am slowly. Still early in the process for me.

Thanks for the tips. I've really been struggling with sweet cravings. Also I am running out of ideas other than ground beef. Turns out I can't eat chicken or fish anymore and went to Costco to buy steak but it was 50$!!!! For 2 steaks, so that's a no way. What can I do??

4-5 yr eating carnivore but totally addicted to sweets & creamy dairy led to so many eruptions: herpes, psoriasis, shingles one after another erupted and then, a binge of Hagan Daz & a processed Tapioca = blew me into puking hell for 2.5 days. At 70 & 100 pounds only... I was thrashed, taking days to feel somewhat normal again. I want to quit but dam that crap is nonsense OCD!

Hi, I am only 6 days into carnivore. I have done it for health reasons. Mainly my stomach. I was reacting to everything! I was in so much pain after eating. Only 6 days in and no pain!! My question is, some days I am incredibly thirsty/dry mouth. I have plenty salt with each meal & I drink 2 electrolyte drinks per day. Should I have more electrolytes or is my body just adapting?

Great tips. Only thing I'd add is: eat liver. Seriously. I wasn't thrilled at the prospect either, but I didn't feel the full benefit of carnivore until I ate it regularly. It also dramatically alters your palate. Once you give your body a taste and persevere, your body will demand it more because it's so very good for you. I've never experienced any food that has had such an immediate and positive effect on my health, energy and mental well-being.

I started adding liver and got sicker and sicker until I had to stop and immediately felt better. BUT…some people really do need what liver has to offer. I would just say, if it makes you feel better, great! If it doesn’t, no need to force it down. ❤️

@@myzerocarblife I'm so sorry to hear that! Gosh. I had no idea it could affect some people so badly. I guess that's a mistake I still fall into - when something works really well for me I assume it must be generally good for most. Thank you for the correction.

I lost 12lb (pretty sure just water) during 1st 1 1/2months & now in the second month going on three I gained 7 back ...so far 😳 losing nothing. I'm gaining🤦🏼♀️I have been strict clean ketovore since 2018 NVR a cheat day. Decided to go carnivore because I just couldn't lose anymore. Carnivore since August 1st. No cheating. Mostly BBBE.... Why am I gaining? What should I do and how long will it be before I actually start to lose??

1. Know your why, whatever made you change your eating habits should be HEALTH not mere weight loss. If focused it will sustain you when you hit plateaus. 2. Keep Hope, look at people who are older or fatter and they made it. Be inspired that you can also do this and are just not there YET- you will be. 3. Avoid sweet tastes they bind you to your addiction 4. Eat enough, cut out all carbs and eat plenty of protein and fat. Goal is no carb cravings, sleeping well and sufficient energy for daily activities: signs of adequate protein. 5. Remove all junk foods from your house and your life and your mind. Retrain your brain to view all sugary treats as POISON. Anticipatory dopamine video linked below to educate binge eaters. 6. MOVE your body. Start with baby steps. Less anxiety and depression if you move. Walk a lot, especially after your largest meal. 7. Redefine your treats and comfort foods. Treats and comfort can come from reading, walking in nature or a nice plate of eggs. 8. Cravings may come from need of salt, water or need for electrolytes. Experiment. 9. Add variety, can you tolerate different animals, seafood, add mustard or seasonings. Whatever works for you. 10. Deal with your stress. Walk, breath work, eat fish, walk in sun, talk, reflect, journal. Look at stress reduction videos with blue light blockers on… 11. Look at the full effects of your kyrptonite. Your personal trigger food needs to be analyzed and you need to ditch it entirely. Don’t keep it around, douse on dish soap and trash. 12. Find your sources of endorphins, seratonin and other mood enhancing hormones. 13. Get educated: fasting insulin needs to be less than 5 for optimum health. Know that processed food manufacturers are linked to pharmaceutical companies are determined to entice you by creating addiction to ultra processed foods. 14. Learn what true hunger is. True hunger craves only healthy food. You may be tired or angry or bored, don’t eat emotionally. If meat isn’t the solution then hunger wasn’t the problem and no food will solve it, just make you sick again. 15. Cravings will pass. You must avoid that substance eating it only feeds your addiction. Do something diversionary. 16. Create clear parameters for yourself and protect your personal boundaries. If sugar makes you binge be kind and say no thank you. Do not hurt yourself by pleasing Aunt Sadie who forces you to eat her chocolate cake with emotional guilt. Join support groups or watch KZitem videos to get tips. 17. Studies show it takes 5 total restarts to break an addiction! Keep restarting don’t shame yourself. Get back up and try again. Never lose hope. Kelly, you are my hero. A non scientist who learned to listen to her body, study the science and persist in her quest for optimum health. Bless you for your optimism, joy and the hope you have instilled in so many struggling food addicts. You and your family are in my prayers. Gif bless you and I thank you!!
