The video is well made. But these towers clearly aren't. Like any BIG projects, they just depend on the "starchitect" name and serve a very limited taste of few people and a very limited time period where this could be considered flashy and trendy. Honestly, to me it looks dated already and it will probably look ridiculous to most people way too soon. This is as far from resilience and sustainability as it can be.

This is very similar to Chicago's marina City. It has passed the test of time, having opened in 1967. It got selected as one of 200 great places of Illinois in 2018.

I remember seeing the buildings get their spikes, when I went to watch jitsu kaisen with my brother at Fisketorvet. I like the look, it's pretty creative and every time I pass them on the train I look at them. Definitely didn't notice them before they got their spikes

Are these for everyone? No and they aren't intended to be. However do they work for 40% of people these days? Absolutely... Rarely is housing ever designed for anyone bus nuclear families so to see an entire development cater to urbanites including having an Urban IKEA on site is a dream even for me out here in Alberta... That's basically the dream tenant everyone in Edmonton is trying to land when IKEA rolls out its first Urban store beyond downtown Toronto...

Agreed, I think this is better than having groups of young people be forced to share apartments/houses designed for families. I'd much rather have my own place, and leave the family-oriented properties for families.

How about the apartments towards the north? How good are they ? Why put bathrooms towards the fasade, when the view is the most precious asset ? Cactus is an unpleasnat plant and no good reference. The form i quite aggressive and the material choice is cold industrial.

Amazing video! I was there today in the new ikea. The buildings really stand out, but in a positive way I think. Gruff Dane’s will hate them for ten years, then love them for another 50 🔥🔥

Thank you so much. Yes, in the video I was trying to show how I think they fit into the context, it helps to see it in person!

It's very satisfying to see. If I lived here I'd just sit on my balcony and watch the machines move 👀

And they are not that functional. Either you have a scary overhang out from the building or the railings squeeze inwards creating an awkward corner.

These towers get a lot of hate, because they don't fit in to the architecture of the rest of the city, but I hink that they are OK.

Beautiful video, but the buildings are flawed in their shape, and the area around them are gloomy and dark. Unwelcoming is the word. So sad.
