I’m about to take this thread through a hard turn butttt…. Some people in the ghosthunting community believe that furbies are an easy point for entities to communicate which would explain why some people have had experiences even after the batteries out. I explicitly told my parents to not get me a furby because they always creeped me out 😅 And I had already had a similar battery-less crying experience with a baby doll that made me never want another doll with electronics again as a kid. My mom recently brought that story up, and I had really hoped I’d just misremembered the event due to childhood but lol NOPE.

Seeing that Furby on the table reminds me of a story from when I was a kid. I was very lucky to get a Furby when they first came out in 1998. I‘ve always loved sci-fi and I thought it was gonna be like having my own cute fluffy little alien to play with, like a Tribble but with more personality. I couldn’t have been more wrong. That Furby was haunted. It woke me up at 3am with demonic chanting more times than I could count. Every time that Furby opened its mouth it sounded like it was using the dark arts to summon Satan. Mind you, I was only 9 years old, so a toy with a broken speaker would’ve terrified the SHIT out of me. After only one month I packed the thing back in the box and threw it in a closet that was filled with board games and Barbies, shoved it all the way to the back where the light could not reach it. I wanted that thing to DIE. I didn’t even want to mess with the batteries again, I just wanted it out of my sight. I eventually forgot about it. When I graduated from high school I went back into that closet to clean it out, donate some toys, and organize my special edition collectible Barbies before I went off to college. From the pile of pink Barbie doll boxes in the corner I hear this garbled half-whispered “feeeeed meeeeee.” I genuinely had forgotten about the cursed Furby, and I didn’t recognize the voice, so I just kept going through boxes like normal… but I was definitely a bit freaked out that something with batteries was still working and I didn’t know what. I moved ONE more box, and the Furby hit the light again. It blinked at me and immediately had a FULL-BLOWN seizure in the box while screeching F̴̯͊̓̒̈́E̷̢͓͇̋̀͐̊̚E̵̛̳̒̔́͐Ḍ̴͉͓̀ ̸̯͕͑͐͂͋M̵̜̆́̎̏Ȩ̴̙̟̯̔̊̀̌͒ͅ like a banshee. I grabbed the box with the Furby in it, threw it outside into the driveway, and smashed it with a hammer. I regret that now bc apparently that Furby is worth like $300 because the box had a typo on it 😭

Spencer's "love to play" catchphrase is my motto, you are never to old to play or to have a stuffed animal! Life is to short to not have fun!

I grew up with Polly Pockets, but I was forced to stop playing with them because one of our cats kept eating the rubber clothes. There was always something horrific about finding bits of bright colored rubber in your cat's poop or a missing shoe in the litter box.

I had the little compact ones in the 90s with like quarter inch tall/1cm tall painted Pollys and friends before they rebranded many years later with toy sized Pollys with rubber clothes and such. The early versions were choking hazards for kids and it seems like the newer versions were chewing hazards for pets😮

Every episode with Spencer makes me wish he streamed. He seems like he'd be fun to hang out with while gaming, watching a movie, etc. Also, I didn't hear about the JP lego sets and definitely bought one after this ^_^.

Quite proud of this lineup for not making one play on words around "Come on, Barbie!" Look at them grow.

Courtney right on with the McDonald’s collectibles. Anyone remember The Dog? The store ones were too expensive but the McDonald’s ones-that was currency on the playground.

i got into webkinz when i was 6 (currently 22). definitely one of my favorite childhood games. in regards to the question, i immediately knew the answer lmao. there are also conspiracies that the webkinz doctor (Doctor Quack) murdered webkinz. all false but when ur a kid, u can easily believe it 😂 i had quite a few friends who were also in the know about the webkinz lore and conspiracies

My heart broke at all the Cabbage Patch Kid bashing on this episode. I’m 45 and probably too old for this channel. I don’t have much left from my childhood, but I still have all my CPKs and their birth certificates (and the playpen, which was also a HUGE deal a few Christmases later). We knew how hard they were to get and we took care of those dolls like they were real babies!

I like how they were like why do we have this card then lmao. And I'm like well... if it was a 1st eddition Legend of Blue eyes series ya I could see a collector going ape on that. That version of the card looks like a starter deck which are not as expensive. But the facts remain that if that was a 1st eddition version probably would pay for your rent for a few years hahaha. 23:13

Spenser actually wasn't that far off when he said "Action Guy (or something)" for the larger G.I. Joe because there was a British variation called Action Man! Action Man did everything! He had moving eyes and some could talk!

The fucking editor MURDERED this. I haven't watching anything Smosh since the OG Ian and Anthony days, but since they got back together I've been really glad to get to know the cast of characters they've grown into!
