I like the RV, but I think the kitchen counter needs to be all one level. It may move the sink more toward the middle of that window so you can have counter space on either side of the sink for either drying dishes or one side prepping on the other side before you put your item onto the stove to cook. And I wish the RV manufacturers made us so that you could sit in the slides in or out. I don’t know what they’re thinking if you got kids and you parked on the side of the road for a quick lunch where are you gonna sit them out on the curb in the middle of the highway on a guard rail. I don’t know so stupid love the program. Keep it up Josh.

Thanks Nerrrrrddddd! This floor plan is a real winner. I love when a pantry area is big enough to be able to include floor care utensils. I'm with you on taking out the 2nd door and putting in a washer/dryer hookup closet instead. This is a really great couples camper. The rest stop access is excellent. I really do appreciate the safety info.😊

@@JoshtheRVNerd we saw your first video with this while we were looking at another Cougar model. My husband said let’s try to find this one before we make our decision. July we found one just about an hours drive away. A few days later we were proud owners of this 25FKD. My husband has added soft starts to both our AC’s and max air fan in the bathroom with remote . It’s perfect with the added pantry when someone like me likes to be prepared with enough food for entire trip. Counter space is amazing. My husband is a nerd about reading all the manuals. He has already been able to help other Cougar owners at the campground. There are always compromises to any camper when choosing what works best for you. This one works for us !! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos.

Great review Josh!! I wish that Cougar would change the slide system to the front slide like they did the rear. The cable slide is worrisome! Thanks again!
@JoshtheRVNerd
Күн бұрын
The truck with changing slides is it literally requires them to completely re-engineer nearly all structural aspects of the rv It’s almost like making an entire new layout And with the way factory production lines work, they would have to make that change on basically all of their models simultaneously, which is a massive, massive undertaking It’s almost like doing two years worth of work all in one shot

Great floor plan and upgrades. 86 the bedroom door and add closet w/WD prep. Move kitchen sink further from stove, bigger oven/stove with air fryer. Drawer dishwasher option under sink. Use the slide type that can be used when closed in both and you have perfect travel access. These features would appeal to full/part timers. I would full time in a heartbeat with these upgrades.

I think it's great they're listening to the customer. I like the kitchen, that's workable, I could cook in that kitchen, plus I love the pantry, plenty of room for storage in that joint area. I'm a big fan of the ottoman, for movability, storage, foot stool and place to put your coffee/dinner tray. I'm very glad the entry doors have privacy shades and NO floor vents - bonus! I'd more than likely want a hide-a-bed rather than theatre seats, I think it's more of a flexible choice. Walk thru bathrooms are definitely growing on me. Especially when it gives you a decent shower. I thought there was a big crack in the plaster where the mirror was going to hide it - but - it was a long hair from my cocker spaniel 😊 Night stands are a very good touch, plus a bit of storage above the bed. I'm liking the storage in the bedroom, but agree, I'd prefer to get rid of the 2nd door and have another closet or washer/dryer. #rvnerdherd #nerdherd I wouldn't want to live in it full time, but could see long periods in it, for holidays, or even temporary living while building or having work done. #: ThanksNerd

There are a lot of positives to this, and you listed them all. That said, there are a few negatives that didn't get mentioned that I spotted.... Small LP tanks No cabinets over chairs or dinette. The awning is large. However, if it's raining, you can't sit in front of the steps. And you can't sit on the outside of the steps, so with the steps down, there's actually a small area to sit and stay dry. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan

Love the anti-lock brakes. Like the frankentable, you can move the seating whereever you want and still have a little storage in the bench. Like that hidden pantry, rectangular shower, good-size wardrobe. I'd go for the queen bed, auto level, 2nd air. You are right, the BR door isn't needed. Maybe the w\d prep closet with a mirror mounted to the back wall and adjustable shelves to make it a flex space, like for a desk or vanity with storage above. Counters appear to be thermofoil, too bad they don't offer solid surface or at least good ole formica as an option. Small fan a pretty painless upgrade. Lack of outside storage a challenge, but with the big wardrobe the space under the bed would mostly suffice. A lot of us are nerdy goofuses, too.

Josh, I definitely love this one. I'm with you on the look of the pantry door but other than that I love it. I'm partial to 5th wheels of course but as far as travel trailers go this one takes the cake. Love the solar package in this and in fact I would probably opt for a bit larger array of panels. The front kitchen will have less things bouncing like dishes and glassware so that is a definite bonus. You also know I prefer a booth over chairs but in this one you get the best of both. Why anyone would equip it any other way is beyond me. I love the kitchen table just like that. If I had to add one thing it would be a standard grill on the side. I am loving my flat iron griddle and don't know how I ever lived without it. Thanks, Pat

Awesome! Love this one! LOVE the couch being directly across from the TV, the travel access, big shower, VERY usable kitchen (wouldn't really change anything about that part!), gigantic awning... and all at 30'! My notes/nitpicks for future iterations: - BIG agree on the washer/dryer prepped closet replacing the bedroom door, especially since you can still get everywhere in travel mode. Possibly put a SMALL outdoor kitchen in that spot as well (a slide out grill with a bit of countertop would be all I'd hope for, no fridge needed). - Would like to see the TV a bit lower, maybe larger (or at least make it feel less pigeon-holed to that size with the framing). With the TV lower, could build some storage into that door (though weight-wise maybe that's not good...) - If that bed slide could be changed to the type that is usable while in travel mode *chefs kiss* - I'm always down for larger, more residential style couches, one with a chaise built in would be awesome! Sacrifice the table/chair space for it. Have you seen people put their own couches in? - No hard mounted outdoor speakers please :) Here's a bigger thought... would a full length super slide be in the realm of possibility for this class/pricepoint of RV? If the couch was bigger, the pantry moved to what's left of the dinette space, the shower moved to the walk in pantry space (and the toilet/sink flipped a bit to accommodate), and the bedroom door turned into a washer/dryer prep... that would put all the water piping on one side of the RV, free up the space where the shower currently is (that would now be in the super slide) for something else, and theoretically, you'd still be able to navigate the whole thing with the slide in.

Thanks Nerd! In the bedroom, with the slide closed, isn't the converter box inaccessible in the bottom of the dresser? For the bedroom door - I don't think you can turn into a w/d closet due to slide, but I think enough storage in the kitchen that the pantry-entertainment center could be hiding the stackable w/d - the plumbing is over there, but might fight living bathroom door. I would not want to lose the walk-through bathroom or road mode access living to bathroom. Sigh, I preferred the more efficient floor ducted heating, but I get most people don't want it. Oh my, that is a smexy front passenger storage with the shelf. Love that solar upgrade option. That's using their noggin. Nice single sewer outlet plumbing!! Uncle Josh, that laugh was priceless!!!!!

Thank you, Sir! This is one of a few floorplans I've seen that, IMHO, is a contender to replace my Transcend 240ML. Thanks for pointing out the obvious potential for overloading the tongue with an overload of groceries and kitchen supplies- our kitchen stays loaded with everything except perishables throughout the year- Great info! Refrigerator placement, yeah, is sort of like painting my bedroom purple. I wouldn't like it, But I figure I'd get used to it in time. Ah, the elephant in the slides, the cable(s)! Heard more horror stories about these than frame flex on LCI equipped 5th wheels! Love the kitchen table chair and booth concept. Would love larger oven to cook turkey for my family. Would love to have a patio for dogs. Wonder if they can design a patio slide that retracts when RV in motion. Love the ability to navigate when slides are in. When it comes to safety and maintenance I rather have the best of things upfront rather than cheap and time and money spent after purchase. We live in times where women are nomads, having the ability to work on the road as remote workers. Some of us are older and like me using our retirement years to do things we wish we could have done when we were much younger. That being said getting on that roof to clean off snow when boondocking scares me. If I get caught in a snowstorm I am parking that baby and going into hibernation till it warms up again. That's why I like camping areas with grocery stores , the prices are little higher than regular shopping area, but I rather pay the price of conveneince then laying dead in a mogue cause my vehicle slide on black ice. I had an incidence in a small car on black ice that scared me into turning in my driver's licence, but my mom refused to be my chauffer and I had to face my fear. Since there are so many solo females of all ages RVing now with no mechanical skills we need RV vehicles well built and easy to operate cause good men went the way of the dinosaurs. I think they are extinct and I ain't going to the lost world to find them.😂

Idk if anyone else has problems or questions about the microwave placement in, pretty much all RV's and a majority of homes as well, but issue is that I'm only 5'4 in hight and my microwave is over the stove. I just can't tell you how many times I've lost food on the floor because the placement is too high, I get scared every time I need to boil water in there, I'm scared it will scald either my head or the side of my body all the way down as I run to get out from under it. Some may say to use a step stool or ladder, I've tried and I'm hunched over and have still lost hot food on the floor or on me. Why don't they try to get a placement right around waist high, not down close to the floor, but waist high so it would be easier to get food out safely. ?

I guess it's OK if you like this type of floor plan. My thoughts on it are... - Front kitchens are OK, but they are tongue heavy. At 735 Lbs dry you can almost guarantee that once you get propane in the tanks, a couple of batteries, (especially LA batteries), some stuff in the front storage, plus all your kitchenwares in the cabinets, the tongue weight on this is likely to balloon to 1K+ Lbs., so as Josh noted, this kills the vast majority of 1/2 tons being able to safely tow this rig. - Front kitchens kill a large chunk of your storage, and what storage is there is in multiple locations. This isn't very functional. - I've never been a fan of passthrough bathrooms in any floor plan. - As noted by another poster, the cable drive system for the slideout, especially the Accu Slide system is no bueno. This unit should definitely have R&P for the slideout.

Take out bedroom door and add outdoor kitchen. Make bedroom usable while slide is closed. Needs outdoor storage for chairs.

I liky liky. Can you deliver it to my driveway so I can test camp in it while I’m on vacation next week? Then, if I like it, keep it in storage until I retire in four years? Thanks Nerrrrd! Coors Lights and pizza 🍕 on me. 😂

TY for the feedback. You're the first to mention that. Lot of folks have liked how we've broken them up to give them each more time on screen It's worth mentioning the spec blocks are _always_ listed in the video description so you can reference them at any time

Hi. Can you do a video on the out back camper? Like he camper . The colors are nice. The living room has nice space. Have you seen a out back trailer with full body paint? I saw it on rv trader. Can you see if there doing that?

Well, you lose the outside storage space with the front kitchen. I would like to see the kitchen counter all one level.I would like to see the hidden cubby option in the bedroom with the side stands maybe make the windows slightly smaller and again I don’t know if I really need to look out a window while I’m sitting on the toilet. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of where that refrigerator is! I think for me the 25 MLEwould be a better option

Lose the bedroom exit, modify toilet side of bath so there's clearance to put accordion door or at least a tension rod & curtain on crapper side for modicum of privacy while still being able to use the passageway through the bathroom. Doing that could still leave room for a w/d hookup in the bedroom. Inability to use the poop half privately is my main gripe about walk-through bathrooms.

@11:00 I do not love the sink position, or rather, I don't love the cut-off counter around the sink. I understand the necessity, but I think the sink could have been angled to look more organic to the counter top.

There's a lot of features I do like. Storage behind the t v, pass through bathroom, and usable ottoman. However, is there any way you could make this with no slides and half ton towable? Even if we had to Give up on the dinette area, have full down tray tables near the sofa, maybe?
@JoshtheRVNerd
Күн бұрын
I just don’t quite know it would work that way. With the slides closed you kind of get an idea of how the seating would interfere with the possible walk-through space getting to the bathroom and bedroom. That would be a tight trailer.

It's too bad the pantry swivel isn't the other way, so that you don't lose access to the shelves like you do with this design. Also, it would be nice to point the unit towards the table/kitchen if watching a cooking guide video. 😉 There's enough space between the fridge walling and the door mechanics for it to be swapped from right mounted to left.

My wife and I loved this TT when we saw it on reviews. But note the past tense. We saw it at a show and as we spent more time in it, we realized there's one huge issue with the kitchen design. If you actually stand at the bench as though you're doing some sort of preparation for meals, you'll notice that the cabinets above the bench are right in front of your face at nose/eye height. I am 5' 11" so certainly not excessively tall. All this fantastic bench space is unusable unless you're probably 5''8" or under. Otherwise, you're going to be constantly hitting your forehead on the cabinets. It's a real shame because until that point I thought this was perfect. If they reduce the depth of the cabinets by a couple of inches it would definitely help.
