For anyone wandering about the difficulty. For snipers, the Noxious Swamp map would remain as 800%, since they would 2 shot all of the spitters anyway, despite them having 50% more hp or not. However, for different units a 50% hp increase can be from 2-3 times more. For example, ballistas would need 2 shots to kill a spitter, whereas a ranger would require more shots since you cant sustain the damage that you deal to spitters normally with them as well as with soldiers, since some of the damaged ones would heal up while you are not damaging them, since you might have to run away after damaging a few spitters, which would mean that the difficulty can be more than 1600% for soldiers and rangers. 50% hp doesn't mean 50% more than 800% difficulty, it has different numbers depending on the units used against certain enemies. For shocking towers executives are almost 4x harder to kill and runners are twice as hard, so for them the difficulty would vary from 1600% - 3200% depending on the zombie that is being shot by them. I really hope this makes sense so don't take numbers in they are billions as linear expressions, but as exponential ones depending on the enemy and unit/tower used to kill that enemy.

I think the more important aspect that he’s mentioned in other videos is that because enemies are tankier, it takes more resources to defend them earlier. Whether that be you need to dedicate a lot more time to kite them or literally spending resources on units. This leads to a worse economy than in lower difficulties. Which leads to a snowballing problem where each wave you have less and less than you would on normal difficulty. So while people say “iT sHoUlD bE 1200%”, it isn’t just tankier zombies. It’s tankier zombies, worse economy, less defenses, etc etc

@@sevargan2415 exactly, also slower veteran progress, which slows down clearing by a large margin earlier on, so you have a lot less space to build with than you usually would if zombies had normal hp, since even if there are 2x more zombies, then your units would still get veterancy at around the same time, but rangers literally become more than 2x more powerful with veterancy and they are your main clearing force in the beginning of the game, hence why it is more than 1600% difficulty

Kensei, thank you very much for all of your videos! I was able to finally beat Caustic Lands on 900% without pausing for the first time on the most difficult map that I had generated and had only 10 snipers left and was pushed to my command center because of a mutant attack that consisted of 4 mutants at day 35. I was fighting the doom town since the start and had to choose to either expand towards it and fight it or try to go around it, since it was literally next to my base blocking every spot that I wanted to expand to. Because of your videos, I was able to turn those 10 snipers into an army of 100+ together with 20+ titans by day 73 and clear most of the map while building triple the defenses on every choke point. I finally managed to beat the map and was able to not panic and micro + macro everything because of all of your videos! It took me more than 100 attempts to beat Caustic Lands on 900%. Huge thank you for everything and keep up the good work! Also, this campaign difficulty that you are playing on is super entertaining to watch, so keep up the good work and keep the videos coming! :)

Note for efficiency purposes it is better to build your first set of single row houses on the left(safe) side of the tracks, then you can build a bank and market in the middle after one row of double houses on the right(danger) side of the tracks and get more houses into the aria. The Wood Workshop can go near the bottom left iron mining camp so it's out of the aura this is because the aria near the tracks provides fiew food squares and you can fit like 12 more houses into your market bank aura. Also you can build a workhouse in the center of the left(safe) side of the tracks to increase wood and food production which will allow for more towers you can use for snipers. frankly I use towers and soldiers for wave 1 as you still need a small mobile squad of soldiers to prod around in the fog of war anyway. Your large sniper force is slow so they won't survive if they aggro too much spitters, or get hit by a random wave The most dangerous thing here are the random mini waves as they are big enough to overrun defences and kill your base faster then you can respond. This is why having several squads of soldiers like (6 x 5) is a good idea to fast respond and distract the spitters while your sniper ball grows in size without losses. I would also expand after wave 1 to aquire both mining camps in the top right and bottom left Then you can build the Lodge in the Neck(peninsula landbridge) and then start working on your secondTown. with the soldiers forming a defencive ring around your base

FYI; Increasing health by 50% means adding half their health; not doubling. So 100 becomes 150. Double is increasing by 100%. Considering the 1600% I assume you doubled the health? Just confirming. :) Sorry if it's me that is confused. Great series; hooked on it and will see it through. Just kept forgetting to mention the above.

He explains the logic in the first few episodes. The long and the short of it is that 50% extra health doesn't increase the difficulty by 50%, but more like doubles it. For a comparison point, 800% difficulty does not have double the zombies that 400% does, it's closer to a 50% increase. It's an inherent quirk of how battles and expansion in RTS games go.
