I've stopped watching some channels because they go shopping and seem to have no limit on the money they spend on decor or whatever. Its not a reality for a lot of people. So I might get some ideas but I can't relate. And I'm not poor. I'm blessed.

I have worked in a grocery store and seen young girls, perfectly capable of working, with 2 -3 small kids, also usually have a guy aka baby daddy with them in the middle of the day (not working ), spend well over $300 in food stamps , and I saw what they would buy and it wasn't food for the kids and then would purchase a case of beer with $.

That's great for us because we have a large house & an in-ground swimming pool (lots of electricity being used in our house). Granted it'll go up again come summer when we have to run the pool 8-12 hours a day, but we'll save $$$ on the electric in the meantime 😉 You've inspired me to cut back. Thank you!

Good advice. I'm not arguing any of the subject matter. My feeling is about those on government assistance usually have it because it's needed to survive. This might not fix your electrical problem but something to be aware of: with my home it is wired with aluminum not copper. From my understanding when wired with aluminum from time to time you need to check all your connections and make sure everything is screwed in tight in the electrical panel because they tend to loosen up over time more so with aluminum wiring vs copper. I thought at one point my dishwasher was faulty. Turns out I ended up tightening the screws at the breaker and ground and then it worked fine. Just a thought.

My grandmother was the most devout Christian I have ever known. Aside from living through the Depression, she and her family were always financially stable even though there wasn't a lot of money. She always said it was her responsibility to be a good steward of the blessings she received and she never wasted anything, ever! One habit my father learned from her, and I from him, was saving change. Literally... Put it in a jar and forget about it! I saved change for the two years I lived with my parents after I started working. When I moved out, I had almost $1100 in change! I probably can't save that much now, but saving is still important. Tuck a little bit away and forget about it!

Someone may have said this but one reason Trailers cost more on electricity is because the insulation isnt near as good as a frame house. (A trailer is meant to be moved so to keep weight down, the thickness of the walls and insulation are reduced to help with weight.) The stuff you do is awesome and I love that you share your life on youtube!! If more of us lived the simple way you do, there would be a lot less debt! (And I think, A lot more happy people!!) My cars are old too, my Toyota has 270k miles on it (and I'm not getting another until this one breaks down) So many think cars are disposable and that they need a new one once the miles hit a certain number. I have 8 kids and live near a very big city, I could use the excuse that since I have kids and live near a big city, I need a new vehicle! But heck no! I do not have money to pay cash so I'll keep driving what I have (it runs great, no issues so far, God has really blessed us) I remember back in the 80's? (I lived in a very small town) very few had brand new cars, they had cars that ran good so no need for a brand new one!

Tessie, my electric bill here in SoCal, for the month of August was over $700. That includes water. I’m 65 and can’t tolerate the heat so I will, in the very hot months in summer, run my A/C just a couple hours a day. We conserve rain water during the rainy season, so that helps in watering my garden and fruit trees. The only help that California utility companies have are contingent on if you qualify for public assistance, which I don’t. Middle class and even upper middle class Californian’s are being forced out of state for a myriad of reasons, and soon there will probably be just the very wealthy and the government dependent. I applaud you for your strength and gumption to face obstacles and overcome them with grace. God Bless you and yours, Tessie.

I love these videos with your son and think you should do more of them. I like listening to the both of you talk. You can tell that your boy loves his Mama and supports her and that is awesome! 💕

I too live in a mobile home and struggle each day but I am going to say something that doesn't make sense...I have nothing but have everything...My plumbing doesn't work in my kitchen but does not mean I do not have water. My cabinets are full of food along with my freezer too. The neighbors across from me have no power or gas and have a baby. He goes out everyday and panhandles for money and usually don't have enough food to eat...I have mobility issues and have a hard time in daily tasks but still blessed...I am not alone..

Hi Tessie, I love you and your video’s. You make me thankful for my life but your frugal ways are rubbing off on me. I try to throw away as little food as possible and only buy what a need. I have heard you say your hubby works, I presume it is perhaps just part time for your income to be so low xx

We loved this. We’re live low income too, 1300€ a month after taxes, we live in a house and have no debts, no mortgage and are building a garden, we cut our own wood and cook with wood. We don’t eat out, I home cook everything at home. Great advice, be smart with what you have. We save half our income because we live frugally.

I've lost interest in some channels because they are either trying to use scare tactics to get us to buy their product because of food shortage or constantly shopping! I am thankful for your channel and it is so meaningful and honest. It helps me continue to look for ways to save and yet be generous to those in need. Love you, Tessie! And love to all here!

@@jumpoffa5011 ABSOLUTELY! I really liked that song. My Dad used it as an example of the reality of life, i.e. cause and effect...sin in the garden of eden...thorns and thistles thereafter. :D

I lived below poverty level many years while raising my kids. I now have land so I can be pretty much self sufficient. I had to accept Government assistance but we all need to know that the government doesn't have any money. they have to take it from someone else to give it out and they pat themselves on the back for it. God has been good to me and I am glad I know how to care for myself.

Tessie, most mobiles have forced air furnice. Do you reLize the amps they use? The watts alone will kill you, 100 watts for a furnace. My old mobile had no heat source so I opted for mini split ductless heat pump. 30 Amps and 15 watts of power vs the old style furnace. It saves me a lot of money. I'm slowly remodeling with my little inheritance from Mom, remember Janice? I miss her so. First Christmas without her. And thanksgiving alone. But you know, Jesus always has a plan. Your critical viewers would really have something to wag their tongue at if they saw where I kived. From a very nice 1800 sq. Ft. Home to almost 900 sq ft. And I love it, I'm happy, I'm joyful when not having a bad depression day. Fewer and farther between since I got the right meds. I love you Tessie, you're a wise, likeable, loveable woman. I also want to say TY for sharing your faith and your walk with Jesus. Hallelujah!

Empathy is innate. There are many people who have had struggles who are still awful people. Some people have had no real struggles, but are empathetic, good people.

This Video shows great Charator in you dear Tessie and that your son is sharing with you.. Crazy at it sounds, my tiny apartment in Baltimore runs $75 amonth since I have lived there 4 years. I get great reviews from my electric companyy and yet, i can't get the bill downw hich is always $75 a month. I am in the same position as you Tessie and what I have learned to be a savvy shopper as needed. I don't go to resurants but when a friend has a brithday which is only 2 friends. Its all in making the correct choices that will be benifitial long term!! You go girl!!! I am right there with you!!!
