Can I just mention a problem with Insomnia that no one ever talks about? Exporting. First, it's SLOW. I mean SLOW. I only have about 20 collections and it's taking *minutes" to export the data to JSON or YAML. But I can deal with slowness since exporting isn't something you do all the time. My issue is that I maintain environments, so I can use drop-in replacements for URL's, API keys that are dependent on whether I use it in local development or in live production. Problem is, I work with a small team, so I export my collection data - and Insomnia doesn't save the environment data but instead "bakes in" whatever environment is currently active to the collection, in essence hard-coding credentials, URLs and other dynamic data into the requests themselves into the dumped data. So anyone receiving these dumps, or myself if I need to copy all this to another computer - I need to set up all this dynamic data all over again, manually. If I have any secret credentials in there, I have to remove them ONE BY ONE from each request instead of one place in the dump file before sharing with team members. Now, this very well may not be the case now with their cloud-first solution, but since I have no intention on being goaded into paying for it, I will never know. I am DONE with Insomnia. Done.

I thought their cloud update was ridiculous but I went ahead and created an account because I needed to get work done. Now that I have more leeway, I'll start looking at some alternatives and going through the tedious process of manually migrating data across... Insomnia already broke my trust with a previous update where they changed the UI so that the query that's run is not what you've selected with your cursor but with what's selected in a newly added dropdown. That's a pretty big UI change, and it didn't help that one of our colleagues found out the hard way after accidentally running the wrong query in prod. Will something like Insomnium last?
